Sound familiar? It should…this coffee uses almost the exact same ingredients as the french toast I shared yesterday. I have heard of spiced coffee before and figured I could just try the same ingredients as the french toast. I loved it!

I warmed up about 1/3 c milk with 1 t of sugar in a mug before pouring in the coffee.spiced coffee-8

Slightly sweet and just the right balance of spices.spiced coffee-9

This was perfect accompaniment to the spiced french toast. With all the similar flavors, you might think it would be overkill. But the sweetness of the french toast with the slight bitterness of the coffee, along with the matching spice flavors, created a great meal.spiced coffee & french toast-1

*Note: The first time I made this, I used medium roast beans. I’ve since made it with a dark roast and liked the medium roast much better.

      • THANK YOU! It was really pretty light! I still need to work on composition and learning Lightroom (and oh hey, maybe touching my ISO) but once in a while I get lucky! 🙂

    1. OMG! I need to get my french press back from my mom. I have been enjoying Starbucks Christmas blend, which has a little bit of spice in it : )

    2. I agree, these photos are beautiful! My friend is asking for a french press for Christmas so perhaps I will get the ingredients for this blend and make a cute little DIY gift for her. Thanks!!

    3. OOooh I need to search the cabinets and see if we have a french press so I can try it. Something tells me mixing the spices into a drip coffee maker won’t produce the same results…

    4. Teri I love it! This looks so yummy! Too bad I just brewed this morning’s coffee or I totally would have made it today! Love it paired with the french toast!

    5. I cold-brew coffee in my French press overnight several times a week, and will try this with tonight’s batch! Love a good twist on my morning brew.
