Mojitos in a Library

Happy Saturday friends! I hope your weekend is off to a great start. This is the first Saturday in a long time that I don’t have anything on the agenda other than an eyebrow threading appointment. March and April were so busy, full of fun things, but it’s nice to have time to sit and eat a leisurely breakfast {local strawberries, local egg on whole wheat toast with avoado} while Katy Perry Pandora plays. Someone please tell me when I starting liking Katy Perry. I’m not sure how it happened.

Last night I checked out a new restaurant/bar in town, The Spring House with my lovely friend Leslie to celebrate her finishing law school. Congrats Leslie! We just met at our DC trip – we have mutual friends – but we instantly hit it off. {A 5.5 hour drive together will either be really good or really bad for a new friendship. Ours was good.}

Too bad she is moving to the other side of the country in a month. California isn’t that great, Leslie. I promise. {Oh wait, it is. It really really is.} Pardon my creepy black eyes in this picture. Red eye corrector did its job a little too well. Oh, and yes, that is the mullet dress again. I should have added it to the list of clothes I’m overwearing.

The Spring House was pretty cool. We went to their Library Bar which was a cozy room with couches and books. I could definitely see it being a great place to hang out a chilly evening. Their mojito was great. Not too sweet, which is right up my alley for drinks. I can’t wait to check out the rest of their menu and enjoy all their patio seating.

I also really liked their light fixtures. {Who notices these things? Me after a mojito, that’s who.}

Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m going to see if I can quickly plan a Cinco de Mayo Kentucky Derby party for tonight. I’m thinking tacos with mint juleps and sweetly Southern derby clothes with sombreros for the dress code. BAM.

Favorite cocktail: go. I’m a sucker for Mojitos (mint! lime!) and anything that has ginger in it, like The Dark & Stormy from Tate’s Craft Bar, which has ginger AND lime in it.

    It’s hard to go wrong with a good mojito! My general go-to is a Jameson with ginger ale, although one of my favorite cocktails is the house margarita at Pinche Tacos in Denver. I’m really not a margarita fan, but they nail it!

    Yes! The Dark and Stormy from Tate’s is always a winner, as is just about anything with lime and ginger, if you ask me. I can’t wait to try The Spring House!
