My August Fabletics Picks

Happy Saturday friends! I hope you had a good week and are enjoying your weekend. I started my new job this week and am still giddy about it. I’m so excited about everything–my boss seems awesome; I’m really excited about the projects assigned to me so far; the other people on the team seem great; and I’m just excited about the organization in general. πŸ˜€Β

I slept in this morning until 8:15 and enjoyed a leisurely walk to Camino Bakery for coffee and flourless blueberry muffins (a new item on their menu!!!) before heading to Pure Barre. It was an awesome class; I’m definitely back on a barre kick and am starting to crave yoga again too. While I was in Charlotte for work this week, I took a yoga class for the first time in months, and I was soooo sore for a couple days afterwards. It was a good reminder to regularly mix up my workouts. I’ve been running hard and lifting weights, which is great, but I think my body needs to be shocked every 6 weeks or so. I’ll still be running regularly, but I think I’ll rotate more frequently between Pure Barre, Yoga and weights (and maayyyyybe some other group ex classes at the Y).Β

Like I’ve mentioned before, I’m working on tossing out old (ahem, nasty) workout clothes and replacing them on a more regular basis. So, you know, like more frequently than every 8 years. Seriously, I have some Nike tempo shorts that are EIGHT. YEARS. OLD. That is just foul. So, I’m tossing those today despite my inner frugal self calling out to me (but they still work! they don’t have holes! keep them! they’re ok!).

To make it a bit easier, I ordered a new pair of running shorts from Fabletics today. (Click here for my post about Fabletics and how it works, if you missed it and you’re unfamiliar with the company.) I really liked a lot of the August outfits, but I decided to order a la carte this month and focus on things that I really need/want. I mean, I always want more leggings but I really don’t need more. But man, they have some really cute patterned leggings right now! Anyway, this is what I just ordered!Β

I love layering a light top over tanks in the morning to and from the studio/gym but don’t have great layering options. I’m really excited for the T’s I got since I think they’ll be great for layering and will look great with jeans too. I’m just not sure what type of bra to wear with them when I’m wearing them with jeans and trying to look presentable…I need some support/shaping so I don’t want to wear a sports bra. Maybe a sticky bra? Any suggestions?

I’m really picky about headbands too, so we’ll see how these go. I’ll let you know. My go-to brands for headbands in the past are Razzy Roo and SweatyBands. They don’t slip or squeeze my head, which are both non-negotiable requirements in a headband for me.

What type of workout clothes do you have a hard time parting with? I never get rid of shorts (clearly), and I have a hard time parting with t-shirts since almost all of mine are race shirts and I like the memories. But, I try to remember that I also have a race bib and oftentimes a medal to remember the race by!

Do you prefer race medals or race shirts? I like both. But the shirt has to be well-fitting. None of that unisex sizing crap.Β

If you’re interested in joining Fabletics, use my referral link pretty please! I get a store credit, which will help me replace workout clothes more often. My fellow gym members thank you. πŸ˜‰

I prefer shirts to medals if they fit properly. Total bummer that fabletics doesn’t ship to Canada πŸ™ I had an outfit all picked out.

Those are super cute workout clothes!! You inspired me to get rid of some of my old pieces, too. In fact, I ended up doing a complete closet clean out!! I absolutely love getting rid of stuff, so it was time well spent! πŸ™‚
Glad to hear your first week went so well at the new job!!! That’s always a great sign!

They really are the best. My boyfriend lives downtown and conveniently doesn’t have a coffee maker so I “have” to go to camino every time I stay there.

Ok – I caved and am ordering the “Brazil” outfit. You gave all the pieces a good review and they are all pieces that have fab reviews. (Used your referral link!)

I keep all my medals – most my race shirts have been donated. I just don’t like them really. I have a bunch of old lululemon that I can’t part with – they are from when the quality was actually quality!

I have my Chicago Marathon 2012 shirt since it was my first marathon. I’m sure I will be keeping this year’s shirt too. I have a few random shirts I’ve kept because they fit well. If they don’t fit well and aren’t from a special race they need to make room for something else! πŸ™‚

I have a stack of race t-shirts that I want to make into a quilt someday.(Emphasis on someday- I can barely sew on a button!) If the stack starts to get ridiculous my plan is to cut off the printed area and toss the rest.

That is hilarious you said that β€” the reason I hold onto alllllll the race shirts is make a quilt someday. I’ve been saying that for YEARS!

You’re not alone…..I definitely have trouble replacing workout clothes too! And I have a hard time justifying buying new items….but when I do, I’m generally glad I did.
