Shopping for a fall rehearsal dinner dress has been harder than expected, but I found a some gorgeous options that can be worn after the wedding. I’m also doing a few simple things to have glowing skin on the wedding day and order some heels I’ve wanted to 13 years!

Happy Wednesday…err, Thursday! Things have been absolutely crazy over here and while I started this draft a while ago, I couldn’t get it published on Wednesday! But hey, Thursday is close enough.

Here’s what’s been happening in wedding planning land!

Rehearsal dress shopping

Bevello recently invited me to come in for a 1:1 styling visit to find a rehearsal dress. (That’s not a blogger perk – they offer 1:1 styling appointment to anyone.) It was SO nice to walk in and already have things picked out since oftentimes, I hate browsing. My stylist did a great job finding things right up my alley (she looked at my blog), plus some things that push my style boundaries a bit.

Below is what I tried on!

Oh oops, these aren’t rehearsal dinner dresses. 😉
Jeans

I LOVED the couple pairs of Hudson jeans I tried on too. I’d never tried that brand and they fit like a dream. Snug but not too tight on my muscular legs and glutes and no gapping in the waist. I took home a pair with a released hem and since I hate distressed denim, that felt like a big step for me. ha! I LOVED the wash of the pair I’m wearing in the below picture and kind of wish I’d gotten those! While I’ve hated  99% of cold shoulder tops for the past year, I loved this sweater!

I posted all of the dresses on Instagram stories and it was so fun hearing from people right as I was trying them on. I love social media! It was like having a bunch of girlfriends there with me. 🙂 And it was so fun having Tommy there too.

I also ordered this dress from ShopBop and while I love the way it looks in pictures, in person the sleeves were kind of annoying so I think I’ll send it back.

Black Halo Dress

It’s been hard to find white dresses that are appropriate for a fall rehearsal dinner since everything in stores is very summery. And I want it to be a dress I can wear again. I’m not 100% sure what I’ll wear to the rehearsal dinner but I do have a couple great options and may order one more. These are some others that I’m eyeing; I need to decide which one to order since I’m running out of time.

Skin Prepping

I’m not getting facials or spray tan or any of that but I’m trying to make my skin glow a bit more. I’m trying to use my Brightening Mask 2x a week, leaving the Cleansing Balm on overnight (after cleansing) for extra moisture 1-2x a week and using body scrub. It doesn’t take that much time and I can already tell those three things are making a big difference! (I’m generally terrible about remembering to use masks.)

Shoes finalized (ish)

I hated the Jimmy Choos that I blogged about last time. They just didn’t look right on my foot and the shade didn’t work well with my skin. But I finally found a pair of Christian Louboutin D’Orsay heels that I LOVE. I’ve love that style since I was 20 when I tried them on in New York during a work trip and I figured this was a great time to finally buy them. 🙂 I had a Neiman Marcus discount code and some birthday money and got ’em. They fit BEAUTIFULLY and are the perfect shade of nude. I’m not 100% sure I’ll wear them down the aisle since it’s grass and I don’t want to wreck them, but I plan to wear them to the rehearsal dinner and for dinner afterwards.

Finalized Honeymoon Details

I know I’ve said this over and over, but our travel agent, Heather, is AMAZING. I’m not sure we would be having a honeymoon without her given the craziness that is happening right now. She sent us an itinerary this week, all in a mobile app so we don’t have to dig through emails for details. It has info on every single thing for our trip, including getting through customs, finding our driver to take us to the hotel, outlining our activities on each day, dinner reservations, suggestions on meals not to miss and more. She included travel tips like how much cash to bring, what to pack with us to save money and other suggestions/things to know in advance.

I can’t sing her praises enough. If you are planning a honeymoon or any big trip, USE HER. I will NEVER plan a big trip without her help again. Her business is Heather Christopher Travel. She’s young and hilarious and so flipping organized.

She and Tommy are chatting this week to hammer out a few more details and it warms my heart that a long-time blog friend and my future husband are connecting! I can’t exactly explain why, but it makes me so happy. 🙂 This blog has brought so many wonderful people into my life!

Final dress fitting

I had my final dress fitting last week and I LOVE the way it turned out. I’m so happy Jenny from Muse & Delphia was able to join me again too! It’s been so special to still have her help with some wedding stuff even though she wasn’t able to be the official planner for my wedding since she was already booked.

What’s left to do: not much really. A few minor things that really don’t matter in the grand scheme of things.

Okay, this is getting super long so I’m going to save the moving update plus some other craziness happening right now in the next post! Have a great day!!

    1. I actually really like the dress with the funky sleeves! But I’m sure you’ll look gorgeous no matter what. Can’t wait to see the actual dress for the big day 😀

      • I love the way it looks in pictures but the sleeves are actually split so they dangle weird in person. I can’t justify dealing with that for the price!!

        Thanks for your sweet words!

    2. I am getting marrie din October down south and I love the Adelyn Rae jumpsuit. Just out of curiosity, did you try on the small or extra small? Thanks!
