Something about the cooler temperature makes me want to avoid real clothing and live in cozy tops and soft pants. Luckily athleisure is perfectly acceptable for clothing, especially on the weekends. And if I’m not working out in the evening, you can bet that I’ll be changing out of real clothes into something soft. I have a few go-to athleisure wear brands that fit well, feel high quality but aren’t crazy expensive.
- Zella has great tops and leggings and is affordable.
- Nike has really cute tops and shoes. I have three pairs of Nike sneakers that I wear all the time – these, these and these. You’ll see them in my Instagram outfit posts a lot!
- Patagonia has a really good selection of sweaters this year.
- Athleta may as well just take all my money. They have SUCH cute stuff.
The great thing about athleisure items is that they can be worn to & from workouts, for lounging and for real outfits. So they actually get a LOT of use, at least with my lifestyle! I don’t like to wear pajamas other than strictly for sleeping since I just feel kind of…sloppy. So what I love about these items is that they’re all comfy AND I look like I have some ambition in life if I suddenly have to run out the door for something. 🙂 If you want some PJs, these pants and this matching short set are my FAVORITES. I wore that short set when I got ready on my wedding day.:)
Anyway, back to my athleisure picks!
I love stripes, so this is a definite must have. I have a couple of these (in black, white and striped) – it’s a great basic tee.
This twist-front top is one of my favorite pieces of clothing. I got it over a year ago and I wear it all-the-dang-time — lounging, to & from the gym and for an easy outfit. (See? I wore it yesterday.) It’s time to get another color!
Can you tell I’m all about the little details? The tie-front detail on this one is so cute!
I’m in love with the color on this funnel-neck sweater.
This throw-on-and-go cardigan is the perfect piece for lounging around on cold mornings and evenings!
I can already see me throwing on these slippers post-run!
If you’re looking for style meets comfy casual, these slip-on’s are a great option.
The retro casual vibe of these sneakers are right up my alley.
Black leggings with pockets? Yes, please.
Totally loving these cream-colored sweats with the elastic cuff around the ankle.
And a grey pair of these sweats because sweatpants will forever remind me of my childhood.
You can see some of my favorite athleisure outfits and how I styled some items here and here. AND, Nordstrom is having a HUGE fall sale right now, so be sure to check out their sale section. Soooo many cute items, athleisure or not! I also added some new items to my fall fashion wishlist so be sure to check out that updated page.
Alright, I’m off to veg on the couch (in athleisure, of course). I’m newly obsessed with This is Us and Tommy is working late, so that sounds like a perfect opportunity to snuggle Maizey and watch TV. Have a great weekend!
If you have favorite athleisure wear brands, I’d love to hear!! Leave a comment!
