A round up of current sales and last week’s workouts with three new pairs of running shoes, including the Brooks Levitate, and some new CrossFit shoes.
Happy Sunday! This weekend has been so lovely. I started Saturday with a super sweaty CrossFit workout and then spent the afternoon with Tommy unpacking and putting together our office. I did a little work on Saturday afternoon while he went to the golf course and then we snuggled up on the couch to watch the Handmaiden’s Tale on Hulu. Holy moly, it’s intense. I’ve read (well, listened) to the book so I know what happens and it’s still so hard to watch.
Today we went to church, ate brunch at Krankies and now I’m catching up on work while watching the NYC Marathon, which I recorded. I’m at the part where Shalane just broke away and I AM SO EXCITED! I’ve had to stay off social media all day until I can finish watching. 🙂 Maizey is also enthralled.
Alright, onto the weekender with favorite links, current sales and last week’s workouts! I have so many things lately I want to blog about so see the topics at the bottom and let me know what you want to see first!

Last Week’s Workouts:
M- 5.3 miles, 8:19 pace, long overdue run with Kim. First run in my new kicks – Brooks Launch 4. I loved the way they felt, but they gave me blisters so I’ll be sending them back.
Tu – Bootcamp; finished in 21:45.
W- 7.7 miles, 7:46 pace. I ran in my very old Adidas Boston Boosts and they felt amazing, even with over 400 miles on them. I’ve been feeling so awful on my runs lately, and it was nice to remember how good running can feel. So I came home and bought another pair of Adidas after this run. 😉
Th – 5.2 miles, 8:26 pace. First run in my new, new kicks – Brooks Levitate – that I got at Fleet Feet on Wednesday night. They were…okay. (More on that below.)
F – 5.1 miles, 8:15 pace. Glorious lunchtime run – the weather was perfect and the fall colors in my neighborhood are amazing right now.
Sa – Crossfit. This was supposed to be a partner WOD, but I really wanted to do it alone so I just paced myself throughout and got a great workout. Tommy also did it solo. We <3 deadlifts.
I wore my new Nike Metcons DSX Flyknit for the first time to Saturday’s WOD and I’m obsessed. If my Nike Metcons (review here) and Nike Zoom trainers (review here) had a love child, these are the perfect result.
Su – 11 miles, 8:28 pace. I ran the first 5 miles with my friend Kim and then kept going after she left. I’m SO grateful I had her to get me out the door early so I could finish my run before church. She’d already done her long run for the weekend (and is tapering), but having her for a good chunk of the run was so nice!
Total Miles: 34.3 miles
How I’m Feeling: You’ll notice lots of shoe purchases this week. ALL of my running and Crossfit shoes are extremely worn out. I’d been postponing buying them since I wasn’t running a ton leading up to our wedding, but now that I’m hoping to ramp up my miles leading up to the Boston Marathon, I’ve got to deal with the situation. I like a fast pair for speed work and tempos (which is what I love my Adidas for), but I’m still looking for a shoe I love for longer distance.
Which should I blog about first?
- Brooks Launch 4 review (what I loved about them despite the blisters)
- Brooks Levitate review
- Nike Metcon DSX Flyknit Review
- Dealing with the different seasons of life (good & bad) – all of my life changes lately have this on my mind!
- Something else! Leave a comment if you have a post request! 🙂
Enjoy the rest of your weekend!
