A Valentine’s Day Workout Playlist

I’m teaching cycle bright and early tomorrow, and I’m using a slightly updated version of last year’s Valentine’s Day mix. I don’t know why I find it so funny to use anti-love songs for Valentine’s Day, but I do. Perhaps to avoid cliché? Yes, we’ll say that’s why.

Capture

“Miserable” always gets people laughing. I think I’m soooo funny. heh heh heh.

If your love life were a playlist for this Valentine’s Day, would it be pro-love mix or an anti-love mix? It’s ok to express some anger and bitterness here. We embrace all stages of life.  It’s also ok to express mushy, gushy lovefestness.

Hah, I hope the instructor has a valentine’s day mix for cycling next week. Good music always makes a class so much better. I swoon over Michael Buble’s love songs, so perfect!

I spend WAY too much time taking pictures of myself on my Mac, but I admit it is very fun:)

That’s a tough quesh! I might do half and half, since I love some mushy gushyness and it inspires me to find a prince charming, but then again I love anti-love songs because they get my heart pumping!

Well since I’ve been blisfully married for almost a year now, my Valentine’s playlist would be pro-love. In fact, I think I’ll make one for the husband and I’s date night in. Good thinking!

Fabulous playlist!!! I sometimes play with my Mac and take silly pics too : ) I’m definitely pro-love this year, though I’ve been single & anti-love for the past 23 years…this will be my first Valentine’s Day with a real Valentine : )

    1. You are too cute!!!
    2. I would love to take that spin class! It sounds pretty hilarious:):) Hopefully no one just went through a breakup and starts bawling their eyes out in class lol
    3. As much as i like love songs, they are just too slow for working out!! i need some anger and rage to keep motivated haha

      1. Why thank you!
      2. I made that disclaimer at the beginning of class…I told them that if they were going through a break-up that this would help them get their rage out on the bike. ha!
      3. Totally agree – much too slow for working out. I don’t have much rage in my life but rage music is great for hard workouts.

This is definitely a down period for me, so I’m quite the fan of your play list. That’s just what I would want to hear at spin to get me going. I hope my instructors have some great mixes in store.

Cry Me A River is one of my all-time FAVORITE songs and music videos!!

I’d say my VDay playlist is pro-love in a “I want to grind with you and then sing you non-sense lyrics” in a sort of hip hop, alternative indie way 🙂

i also hate how uncomfortable apple headphones are. my earholes are too small for them. i bought some attachments that go on mine that make them fit. It was a while back but they are Belkin brand. You might check online. I love mine now! Love your blog!!!! 🙂

That’s a good idea for the headphones. Thanks for the info! I have other headphones I use for working out, but it’d be nice to find something to make these better since i find myself using them a lot more lately.

Hi Teri! I said that wrong. They are made by Griffin, not Belkin. I just looked to see if they had them online and found this link on Amazon. Mine came with 3 different sizes of the earbud covers and all 3 fit me. Here’s the link 🙂 Let me know if you get them and like them! http://www.amazon.com/Griffin-Technology-4039-EJAM-EarJam-Enhancing/dp/B0006Q7FFG

Hmmm thats tough. I would choose both! Now before you start calling me greedy, let me explain. I just like GOOD music. It can be anti or pro love if its good I’ll sing it. My number 1 loved related workout song is very anti: Revenge by Taylor Swift. Its one of her lesser knowns but it def gets me going.
