This past weekend, Tommy and I headed up to Boone, NC. It was my first time meeting his parents (!!), who were absolutely wonderful. It was a really fun and relaxing weekend. It was a quick trip, but it felt like a mini vacation and it was so nice to spend so much time with Tommy – this long distance thing can be tough, and I really appreciated our time together since it always feels too short. Sometimes I am just overwhelmed with gratitude at how happy I am and how good life is – and I had a lot of those moments this weekend. Anyway, enough gushing… 🙂
I love Boone – it’s such a pretty town and the mountains views are unbelievable. Need proof? Check out the views from this spot in Blowing Rock that Tommy took me to. Pays to know someone who was born and raised in the area! 😉
We went out to the golf course on Saturday afternoon where I hacked at the ball while Tommy fine tuned his nearly perfect swing. (Seriously, he’s unreal. He’s a scratch golfer, which I googled last week after hearing one of our friends describe him that way, and um, yeah, that’s really good.)
I love being out on the golf course – it’s so quiet (except for my repeated exclamations of “Dang it!”) and relaxing, and I love any excuse to be outdoors. However, I may not find it relaxing once I actually play a round of golf vs. just hitting balls at the driving range…
I headed back to Charlotte late Sunday afternoon and picked Maizey up from the dog sitter where she had played non-stop with their four dogs all weekend. She hasn’t moved since we got home. Sweet, tired girl.
I’ll post the Weekender with my favorite reads and workout recap tomorrow! I hope you have a great week!

atOhhhh wow! Those mountains are gorgeous!! And I absolutely LOVE tiring dogs out hahaha. Whenever I dog sit, I take the dog for long walks, runs, out to the dog park, etc. An exhausted dog is a happy dog heheh. There’s actually a company out here called Trailblazing Tails, and it’s a dog running/walking company. Super cool!
