You may have noticed there wasn’t a Weekender post. That’s because I was busy enjoying a weekend with the girls. Some of my very very favorite girls. Crystal and Allison. (Remember them?) Yep, they’re really pretty. They’re also really really great.IMG_2025-1I also spent some time with one of my very favorite pups (in addition to Maizey of course) – ANNIE! IMG_2020Allison, now that I know where you live, I might pup-nap Annie. You’ve been warned. You can also take this as an official warning that I just might show up at your place repeatedly weekend this fall. I quite liked it there. And I quite like you.

We did some shopping and ate at some great restaurants in Charlotte – The Cowfish, Zink, Pewter Rose Café, and Cantina. Every meal was very good and I especially liked the mashed potato-filled omelet at Pewter Rose. Crystal suggested it and I totally trust Crystal’s taste…in food, make-up, clothes, and decorating.

Maybe I should have consulted her before I made this face for this picture. IMG_2023-1Crystal did both Allison’s and my hair and make-up before our dinner on Saturday night. She used her new Urban Decay “Naked” palette on both of us. And now I NEED it. Check it out. You’ll need it too. Blame Crystal, not me.product-craving-urban-decay-naked-palette-19881435

Girls’ weekends are the best. Really, they are. But do you think boys would be disappointed to learn that there aren’t actually pillow fights during girls’ weekends? Instead there’s some of this….93e1c656f67146a8b5c903fa852cf05a_7

And some of this…IMG_2031-1

In all seriousness, it was SUCH a great weekend. I love these ladies. Every girl deserves friends as wonderful as them. Awww, I’m getting’ all mushy and stuff.

Annie is not amused. She hates mushiness. IMG_2034-1

How old were you when you had your first sleepover as a child? I think I was 7 or 8. And I’m pretty sure I called my mom at like 11 PM to come pick me up. Smile  It took me a few more tries to stay the whole night.

    1. I LOVED sleepovers as a kid, and I still do (with my husband at friend’s houses and sibling’s houses).

My first sleepover was like age 7 and I loved every second of it! I like to sleep though…..so when I got older (HS age) I fell asleep during movies and talking.SO sad, i know! heh

    2. Ahhh… a girls weekend! Love it. If you don’t count hanging out with my little daughters, I am pretty sure that I am waaayy overdue for a girls weekend. Glad you had such a great weekend in Charlotte – those are some of our favorite places to eat!

    3. I was about 9 and I remember watching Disney movies, eating pizza and playing with that chinese finger toy (where you try to pull your pointer fingers apart but they always get stuck.) I wish I could remember what that was called…

    4. I remember doing the same thing as a kid too! It’s time for bed and I get nervous and call my mommy. Probably did it more than once. As I got older I remember never wanting my friends to leave the next day and being so sad and distraught once everyone had gone home.

    5. When I was younger, every birthday meant a group of my friends in my grandparents basement eating cake and ice cream and watching Jesus movies. The next day we’d eat Mom’s pancakes until were were stuffed, play in the yard and then go swimming.

I miss bein’ a little kid.

    6. I think my first sleepover was around 6 or 7. My best friend lived just down the street so I would sleep over at her house or she would be at mine almost every weekend.
I need a girls weekend (I’m the only girl in our house with 5 boys!). I think I’ll talk to my besties about it tomorrow.
Oh, and I love the Naked Palette.

    7. Annie is SO adorable!!! I won’t tell anyone if you do dog nap her 🙂
I seem to be the odd one here because my parents wouldn’t allow me to go stay the night at anyone’s house until my sophomore year of high school. They were what you like to call “over-protective.” I work with so many men now though that I pretty much live for girls’ days and nights. I <3 girl time

    8. Oh man, my first sleep over was probably when I was 8 or 9 and I had just moved to a new town. I think it was at my neighbor’s down the street. If I wanted to go home, I could have just walked. Haha.

I loved having sleep overs at my house. One of my favorites was when we had a pizza party and my mom bought those individual Boboli crusts for us. So many interesting pizzas that night. I just remember Dorito’s being a favorite topping. 🙂

    9. i was obsessed with those dog photos on IG! She is such a cute chunk. Glad you had some good times. Oh man, I think my first sleepover was when I was 5 or 6? I used to sleep at my best friend’s house ALL the time. We would play Mall Madness and I required a cassette tape of ocean sounds playing nearby my ear in order to fall asleep. What?

    10. Omgosh! I did the same thing on my first sleep over! I hope yours wasn’t for the same reason 😛 I wanted to go home because some little girl was sweet enough to point out that, compared to everyone else,I had huge boobs! Mini-me was devastated! It might be fun having boobs now but when you’re young and super sore then it’s not nearly as awesome.

    11. I can’t even remember my first sleepover! My best friend lived right next door so I stayed over there all the time. In the morning I would “forget” something so I could go back over later and hang out more haha

    12. Ahh that ‘s the BEST. I am in desparate need of a girl’s weekend…some naps, some wine, some cute puppies. 🙂 Glad you had fun!

    13. yay for girls weekend! those are the best. nothing like bonding with friends 🙂 glad you gals had a great time and love the dog pictures too cute. I am trying to remember my first sleep over, I know I left early. Not really sure why but I was not having a lot of fun so I just wanted to leave haha oh the good old days!

    14. This just made me extra excited for my girls night tonight. My two best friends from high school and I are all getting together at the same time for the first time in a year, I think. There will be champagne. And maybe karaoke.
      Girls times are the best!

    15. You are right, I need the Naked eye makeup. Now.

I love girls weekends! They seriously are the best!

Hm, first sleepover…I may have been 5 or 6, but it was at my aunt’s house with my cousins. I think we may have already had a pillow fight back then.

    16. Teri,

Do you remember the sleep over you and I went to and then left? My Mom picked us up! You were my best friend back then! I wish I still had those letters you wrote me! 🙂 -Krystal
