Happy weekend friends! I’ve had an uber-lazy weekend thus far. I hadn’t really slept for 3 nights so I decided to postpone my planned 18 mile run yesterday. The weather was a deterrent at first but I got some great advice from my Facebook friends on how to deal with drizzly weather…but I was just too tired. So I napped on and off until about 2 PM instead. 🙂 But I am planning to run today! Wish me luck! BTW, I still have pictures from Utah I want to share but I can’t find my camera cord to download the pics. So…stay tuned. 🙂 And tell me, if you were a camera cord, where would you be?
Last night, I met my boyfriend for a drink and dinner at Foothills Brewery. I love their ostrich burger but I just stuck with the greek salad with chicken last night.
We typically order their Hefeweizen but we decided to try their beer sampler to broaden our beer horizons. I’m not much of a beer drinker so I have no idea what types of beer I like beside Hefeweizen or wheat beers.
But, turns out, I like IPAs too! I loved this Hoppyum IPA. My bf really liked the Porter.
I was bummed our sampler didn’t include the Pumpkin Beer. The very first beer I ever had was a pumpkin beer and I hated it…but I think I just hadn’t acquired a taste for beer yet. Since I’ve started like more beers over the past year, I’ve wanted to try pumpkin beer again. Our waiter brought me a sample and I LOVED it. I chose a full glass of the pumpkin beer over the Hoppyum. So spicy and nutmeggy (yes, that’s a word 😉 ). I get the hype now!
The weather last night felt like a fall night so the pumpkin beer made it even better. (I also wore jeans and plaid to complete the fall feeling…posted a pic on Facebook!)
What’s your favorite kind of beer?

atYumm looks delicious! I am more of a wine girl myself, but pumpkin beer sure does sound like it would be good! I can’t believe it is almost fall – where did the summer go!?

atI loooove a good pumpkin beer.
I got Patrick three bombers of Pumking (Southern Tier Brewing Company), and I’m definitely gonna indulge in a little sample of one once he pops them open. If you wanna explore different breweries’ interpretations, they’ve got them at City Beverage last I looked. Pumpking has actual pumpkin in it (some just use spices to suggest a pumpkin flavor).
Happy drinking!

atI’m such a beer bore! Living in NC I always feel like a simpleton because I am just as happy with a Mich Ultra as any of the really great local brews were so lucky to have!
I need to start ordering samplers to educate myself 🙂

atI am a huge beer nerd and recently discovered pumpkin beer a couple of years ago. I think the best out there is Southern Tier’s Pumpking. It’s perfection on a fall day. My favorite styles of beer are tripels and saisons. Tripels are perfect for fall/winter and saisons are perfect for spring/summer (but in reality I drink both all year round).

atPumpkin beer with a cinnamon sugar rim is the best! A lot of bars are serving it now, but I have to wait until the fall to really enjoy it. 🙂

atI’m not a big beer fan either. One beer and I feel so full..however, I do like Pale Ale’s and I think I might need to try a Pumpkin beer!
