18 Best Tuckernuck Dresses

My style has changed a bit over the last decade since I moved from Utah to North Carolina and also as I got a little older. Everyone’s style evolves over time, and in the last few years, I’ve especially started to love southern styles that are colorful, feminine, and even slightly preppy. And since shopping and sourcing items for readers is part of my full-time gig here on the blog, I spend lots of time scrolling through websites and scouring new arrivals to find great dresses, jeans, tops, shoes and accessories.

One of my ALL time favorite fashion retailers is Tuckernuck. I discovered Tuckernuck only a few years ago, but since finding them, I’ve become rather loyal. It was started by Jocelyn Moore Gailliot, Madeline Moore, and September Rinnier in a Georgetown garage, and has been INCREDIBLY successful since their 2012 launch. The women started the company while hunting for unique gifts, clothes and accessories for the many weddings, baby showers, and dinner parties they were attending. They wanted an easier place to shop (specifically online) for things since it was taking them hours to find what they were alway shopping for.

I’ve found that Tuckernuck is exactly that — an online boutique sourced SO well that I want to order every single thing they carry. They make shopping so easy because they only carry the best items from the best brands. They have amazing hostess and wedding gifts on their website too. It’s truly a one-stop-shop. My favorite items from Tuckernuck are always dresses though. They have dresses at every price point, for every occasion.

18 Best Tuckernuck Dresses

Today I’m sharing a roundup of my favorite dresses from Tuckernuck for every season and occasion, including casual day dresses, weddings, date nights and more. I’ve added the most recent items at the top of the post, and you’ll see some of my summer picks below those. Some of the summer items are likely sold out, but I left them just in case you’re interested and want to hunt something down.

Best Tuckernuck Dresses

Tuckernuck has really great solid colored dresses, but they also have amazing prints! Some feel slightly dated to me (like this hydrangea print dress) but in general, I LOVE the prints Tuckernuck carries. You’ll see a mix of solid and printed dress picks below.

Green Avery Dress

I love a simple “throw-on-and-go” style dress. This green dress is the perfect blend of put-together and casual with the button front and subtle stand collar, and the three-quarter length sleeves. I love the loose fit too!

I love how the model wears it with tall boots, but I also think white sneakers would be cute!

Black Lennox Mini Dress

I love the simplicity of this winter dress. The sleeves have a fun balloon detail at the bottom, and the rest of the dress is simple and elegant. You’ll want fun shoes to make this dress pop–specifically these gold heels with bows and pleats, or this affordable dupe pair for a cocktail party. You could also pair with black tights an boots for SUPER cold days.

Dusk Elm Dress

This fall dress is ideal for any festive events you have this season. I love the classic fall print and the ruffle collar that gives it a cute, feminine flare. This is by Ulla Johnson, and she’s one of my favorite designers for dresses. I’d pair this with clogs or tall brown boots.

Espresso Check Callahan Dress

Another classic fall print. I love the ruffle hem and the traditional collar of this shirt dress. I’d also pair this with clogs or knee high boots.

Orange Floral Cotton Emory Dress

I have a friend attending a fall dinner this year and the attire is boho/charleston chic. This dress feels right on to me. The peasant style bodice paired with a fun fall hue is perfect for that kind of event! I love the length too.

Noir Vivianne Dress

There’s no better basic than this black funnelneck dress from Tuckernuck. I love a basic like this that can be dressed up or down. I have this on my wishlist to wear with sneakers and loafers. Tall boots would also be cute with this! If you like this style but want something a little dressier, this velvet turtleneck dress feels like an elevated version of the Noir one.

Navy Porter Dress

This Navy Porter Dress is similar to the black turtleneck dress above, but this is a much more casual take on the same style. I love the sweatshirt material and fun pockets. What a great everyday dress for the cooler months! I’d pair this with sneakers.

Dutch Blue Corduroy Clifton Dress

This corduroy dress is calling my name. I love a stand up collar, a shift style fit, and this fall blue. The 3/4 length sleeves are also such a great length for fall since it’s not full on cold yet. I’d pair this dress with clogs or mules, loafers, or boots.

Cedar Check Crosby Dress

This ceder check print is such a fun look for fall. And paired with the tortoise shell buttons up the front? I just love this dress! The waist can be cinched, which is how I’d likely wear this dress. I’m not a huge fan of the boxier fit on petite frames (I’m 5’1″), so I appreciate the option to give this dress a fitted waist. I’d pair this with leather heeled clogs or tall brown boots.

Royal Shirt Dress

I got this Royal Shirt Dress early in the spring in a cobalt blue (sadly, no longer available), but it’s still great for fall. It’s ideal for business casual work wear, church, or just to wear at home. The three-quarters length sleeves and button down front feel very polished, but the boxy fit keep it casual and comfortable. The material is silky smooth stretch cotton sateen fabric and doesn’t wrinkle easily. Best part? It has pockets!

This dress comes in 7 colors and patterns. The solid colors are great for professional settings, but the floral patterns are so tempting. The length is a little long on me, so I’ll likely have it altered just slightly. Keep in mind I’m 5″1, so if you’re a little taller, it may not need any hemming, and it runs TTS. This dress is right around $200, so it’s an investment, but a worthy one considering how much wear you could get out of it for years to come. It’s a timeless style.

I’ve worn this dress many ways: heels, wedges, and even white sneakers. Throw a baseball cap on, and you’re ready for your kids’ sporting events right after work.

White Annie Smocked Dress

I got the White Annie Smocked Dress earlier this year and it quickly became my favorite after discovering how comfortable it is. The dress is made with 100% linen, so it’s lightweight and breathable, and the stretchy smocked bodice front is comfortable and flattering. The puff sleeves are the reason I ordered this dress, and even though I have a petite frame, the sleeves don’t swallow me.

The length is right about my knees (I’m 5″1), so I could definitely have it hemmed if I wanted to, but I haven’t made it to an alterations shop yet. Plus, since I’m chasing a toddler around all the time, the extra length is nice. If you’re closer to 5″5 or 5″6, this dress will be a cute mini length, but still not too short. This is a pull-on style dress, so no zippers. The bodice is really stretchy, so I’d be a great nursing-friendly option too. It’s priced right under $150.

Tuckernuck carries this dress in three colors: white, blue, and black. I honestly love all three, but a fashionista friend of mine says you only want to have one of each item you love, because if you order more than one, you’ll never wear either! I paired it with flat sandals at the beach, but it’d also be super cute with wedges or espadrilles and a clutch for a date.

Poppy Red Polly Dress

The Poppy Red Polly Dress from Tuckernuck is another great business casual dress option for professional settings. If I was still working in Corporate America, I’d buy this for sure. Heck, I’ll probably buy it anyway since I’m a sucker for anything with a collar. The three-quarter length sleeves make it great for a work setting, but the lightweight fabric is also easy to wear in the summer months working at home. I love that these sleeves can be easily rolled up for a casual look.

I’d pair with loafers for a meeting, but this dress would be especially cute with sneakers and a ball cap, if you rolled the sleeves up. It has pockets, which we love, and it’s under $100! It comes in 4 colors, but the red is my favorite.

Camellia Pink Hazel Flutter Sleeve Dress

I LOVE this Pink Flutter Sleeve Dress. The pink is so fun, and the loose fit makes it so easy to wear all day. The material is 70% Viscose, 30% Linen, so it’s lightweight. I’d pair this dress with flat sandals and sneakers most often, but it would also be cute dressed up with espadrille wedges.

This dress is under $120, and a fun summer wardrobe piece.

White Poplin Ric Rac Tie Shoulder Dress

This White Poplin Ric Rac Tie Shoulder Dress is pricey, but SO gorgeous. I love the lightweight boxy style mixed with the buttons on the front and tie shoulders. This dress style comes in a few other colors, but white feels the most timeless and reasonable since it can be worn time and time again. The front buttons make it nursing friendly, and the longer midi length feels super feminine. The ric rac detail also adds a touch of fun that I love.

This brand’s sizing is unique, and this dress only comes in three sizes. Since the fit is made to be loose and boxy, sizing isn’t much of a concern for me. I’d pair this dress with flat sandals (or wedges) and a clutch. It’s perfect for any brides to be, too!

Exclusive Pastel Blue Palladio Flared Sleeve Dress

This Pastel Blue Palladio Flared Sleeve Dress is another dress from the same designer as above. I’ve had this dress on my wishlist for a while. I love the tiered style and the block print. It’s made with 100% cotton so it’s great for summer, and perfect for a date night or dinner with friends. The scalloped edges are a cute detail too.

Like the dress above, this dress only comes in three sizes, which is not an issue because of the flowy nature of the dress. It’s a splurgy dress, so I haven’t purchased it quite yet, but it’s definitely on the wishlist.

This dress would be perfect with heeled sandals or wedges. The wide/flowy style of the dress will look best with some height in the shoes. A simple clutch would pair perfectly with this dress since the dress is already a little busy.

Pink Carolina Caftan

This caftan is SO cute, but it was FAR too long for me. Since I’m so petite, it looked sloppy on me because it was so long and boxy, but if you have a bit more height, this is a GREAT dress. It’s an A-line style with windowpane details, a notched V-neckline, slits at the hem, and faux pockets on the front. Perfect for a summer vacation.

The material is super lightweight and breezy (it’s 100% cotton), which I loved. I feel like dresses in this style are best paired with slide sandals. If I had kept this dress, I’d wear it with brown slide sandals (or espadrilles like they style it online), gold jewelry, and a slick back bun. It’s under $100 and comes in 5 colors, so don’t miss this find!

Light Blue Mini Gwyn Dress

This Light Blue Mini Gwyn Dress is a closet staple. The puff sleeves, belted waist, length, button top, and ruffle hem are perfect details for the ideal summer dress. This dress would be perfect for church, dinner with friends, a child’s recital, or even just to wear at home.

The belt tie is removable, so this dress would also be perfect if you’re expecting or postpartum and want a roomier fit. You can wear any bra with this dress (I love dresses that don’t require a strapless bra), and easily throw it on with sneakers, heels, sandals, or wedges. If you were only going to get one dress this summer, I think this is a great one for every occasion.

Royal Blue Liberty Floral Gianna Maxi Dress

If you have a wedding to attend this summer and want a really special dress, I’ve found it. This Royal Blue Liberty Floral Gianna Maxi Dress is beautiful, long, and so slimming. This dress has voluminous sleeves, an empire waist, and a floor-grazing skirt. The elasticated sleeves can be worn on or off the shoulder, and the Liberty London print is SO fun.

This dress has a square neckline, which I always find flattering, and I love the smocked bodice that’s super slimming and comfortable. Even though this dress is expensive and bold, It can be dressed down with slides and worn easily all summer. For a wedding, I’d pair it with these heels and a clutch.

Finley Flutter Sleeve Dress

I’ve been eyeing a top in this same style for a while, but this Finley Flutter Sleeve dress is even cuter! I love a dress that can transition from day to night easily, and this one can. I’d pair it with sandals or sneakers during the day, and throw on a pair of heels for dinner. It comes in 8 colors, and it has the same boxy style as many of the dresses I included above. This kind of dress is easier to wear in the day time since you’re bending over, lifting things, wrangling children, etc. Tight dresses just don’t work well for my day to day life anymore!

This dress has oversizes sleeves (great for hiding sweat if you happen to struggle with sweating in dresses), and pockets. It’s made with 100% cotton and under $130. My favorite colors are the black (you always need a simple black dress) and the orchid pink.

While the dresses below are not available from Tuckernuck anymore, they are dresses I purchased there and brands that Tuckernuck typically carries. Keep an eye out for similar styles since Tuckernuck always has new arrivals!
