Happy Friday! I’m back in Winston after a work trip in Atlanta and it’s so nice to be home. I had a great workout last night at CrossFit, but was feeling pretty beat up this morning so Maizey and I went for a long walk this morning instead of going on a run. We stopped for a latte and a banana chai muffin from Twin City Hive. Temperatures are finally starting to drop (a little!), mornings are feeling so nice, and I’m loving the fall spices making their way into everything.
Like every other girl, I love fall and it has me itching for some new wardrobe items. I often get asked for fashion posts, but honestly, I just feel a little strange posting pictures of me since I don’t consider myself a fashion blogger and I just don’t have the skill set (or a photographer around!) to pose and not look goofy. I do post an occasional outfit selfie on Instagram, so you can follow me there, and I’ll try to share items that I’m coveting or recently purchased on the blog more often. But, for the most part, I’ll probably post pictures of the items and not pictures of me in the item. Maybe eventually I’ll get braver/less lazy.
Also, did you hear that Nordstrom now carries J.Crew?? As a marketer, I find this super interesting and as a consumer, I love it, since Nordstrom has free shipping + free returns + a generous return policy. (I ALWAYS buy shoes from Nordstrom in case they end up destroying my feet after one wear.) They don’t have a huge selection, but I bet they’ll expand it over time if the partnership does well.
Anyway, here’s what I have sitting in my Nordstrom cart right now. I’d love to hear what you love!
In my Nordstrom cart:
J.Crew Ruffle Sleeve Top – $59 (sold out, but similar here)
Hard pass on that denim skirt. My 14 year old self isn’t ready for that trend again.
J.Crew Deck Stripe Tee – $39 (sold out but similar here)
My shoulders have broadened since starting Crossfit (see the before & after in this post) and it can be find to get tops to fit me well. I really like sleeves with an off-shoulder hem to help with this!
Lush Whitney Bell Sleeve Shift Dress – $48 (sold out, but here’s another beautiful bell sleeve option)
I’m loving flowy dresses right now and that color is gorgeous.
Paige Transcend – Bell Canyon High Rise Flare Jeans – $89 (sold out but similar here)
I tend to be an over-purger since I hate clutter. And I’m an idiot who purged my flare jeans a few years ago, which is a bummer sine I love that flare jeans are back in. Although, they didn’t fit great so I guess it’s okay. I’ve heard Paige jeans are great for muscular thighs, so I’m eyeing these. I’ve also had great luck with Sevens fitting in the waist and quads, but I didn’t see any I loved.
Topshop Scallop Frill Tee – $25 (sold out)
Only $25!!!!! Granted, I’ve bought a few too many white tops lately, but I just love them!
Steve Madden Sunshine Lace-up Flat – $69 (sold out but similar here & here)
Vince Camuto Barsha Lace-up Pump – $129 (sold out but similar here)
I’m loving lace-up shoes lately, but I’m not sure I can justify a pair of flats and pumps in that style. I’m torn on which to go for!
Free People Love Split Back Pullover – $68
I love this soft pink color, but I’m not sure whether it will work for the fall. I think if I pair it with dark denim (or black!) and fall accessories, it’ll be fine. And I think it’s such a pretty color for winter.
Topshop Texture Stitch Panel Long Sleeve Sweater – $68 (sold out but similar here)
I have a hard time finding sweaters that don’t make me itch like crazy; I usually can’t wear anything wool and this has 6% wool…but maybe that’s not enough to drive me nuts?
Shop this post!
What are you eyeing lately?
And do you do this, where you put things in your cart and just let it sit for days? I find it helps me avoid impulse purchases and I often find that I don’t love things as much a few days later, so it helps my budget out.
I’ll revisit my cart in about a week and see if I want to hit the checkout button on any of these! And hopefully eBates will have a special with an double or triple cash back from Nordstrom. (They often have 12% cash back!) If you don’t use eBates, PLEASE get on it. It’s the best. You sign up, search for the stores you shop online at (and eBates has a partnership with almost everyone), and use the eBates link to go to the site. Then you get a percentage of your purchase back in cash. It adds up quickly if you use it for all online purchases; I get the money automatically deposited into my bank account each quarter. No catches, I promise. Cha-ching!

atCan you return shoes to Nordstrom once you’ve worn them outside?
Great choices!

atI have! I had a clerk tell me once that I could even return shoes after 6 months if they wore out more quickly than I thought they should!

atI am an over-purger too! I did keep my Paige flare jeans, and I can attest they fit runner’s quads. That is crazy that J.Crew is now being sold at Nordstroms.
