Friday Favorites

Happy Friday! We made it. 🙂 I’m so ready for the weekend – I’ve got a number of fun things planned. A graduation, live music downtown, a hike (not sure where – any recommendations??). I seriously love this time of year with beautiful weather but not the suffocating humidity. Here’s what else I’m loving lately.

This haircut. Seriously perfect. It’s similar to mine, but a little shorter and not as many layers. I really wish my stylist had cut more length off my hair tqwa1. Irgh.

This view! And I get to go there! I booked a trip to St. John for a 30th birthday present to myself and I. CAN’T. WAIT.

This wine club called Lot 18. I love the little quiz at the beginning to help them better pick wines for you. I totally ordered the starter kit – $7! I’m not sure I’ll do the subscription after the starter kit, but we’ll see. It sounds like a good deal but between Spotify and Birchbox, I don’t need more monthly subscriptions. But, even the Huff said this wine club was legit. <– use their link to get the $7 intro deal

These Vince Camuto heels. I’ve been eyeing them ever since my friend Courtney recommended them. And she’s like 182782 months pregnant (have that baby already – I can’t wait!) and she wears them all day standing on her feet. I’m sold.

White jeans! I feel like they are a must-have for spring, yes??  I particularly love these Joe’s Jean’s Pennie Skinny Ankle ones, but I’ve never tried the brand. Does anyone know if they hold their shape well?

Alright, off I run to get this day started. Hopefully it flies by! Have a great day! xo

Any recommendations for a brand of white jeans, if not the Joe’s??

What trips do you have coming up? I LOVE hearing about your guys’ travels!

I’m definitely not as brave with cutting/coloring as I used to be! Or maybe I’ve just found the length/color I like. 🙂

That’s good to hear! I was wondering how much I’d wear white jeans! Sounds like a lot!

And I actually never have been to Grandfather! I need to!! Maybe tomorrow?

I actually own a pair of Joe’s white skinny jeans. not the ankle cut but still joe’s skinny white. I love them! they’re the first pair where I didn’t feel like they were totally see through. i’ve owned other pairs of Joe’s for years and they’ve held up well. they’re my go to. and they hug my butt!

I never would have thought about white jeans being see-through! Eeek! I’ll pay close attention when shopping! 🙂

I love jeans that hug the butt!

I’m headed to Nicaragua for my honeymoon in a few weeks!!! We are staying in a private little guest house of a B&B in the middle of Lake Nicaragua between 2 volcanoes and the second half of our trip is at a luxury treehouse resort on the Pacific with yoga overlooking the ocean. I’m so excited 😀

I’ve had a couple pairs of Joe’s Jeans the past couple of years and they always suck me in with the comfort factor, but I find they lose their shape easily. J.Crew has been advertising that their new denim does not stretch out, so I might try them.

Ugh I hate when jeans lose their shape! Supposedly DL1961 is a brand designed to keep their shape but they are crazy expensive. I remember reading about J.Crew’s new denim now that you say that! I’ll give it a try…I haven’t loved their jeans in the past.

Ooh, a trip! Fun! I saw Gina (Fitnessista) post about her white Jeans in the last week or two. I thought they were Joe’s, but I could be mistaken.

I bought some white jeans a few weeks ago – the JC Penny brand…. at JC penny lol. Not seethrough, a little stretchy, and skinny leg.

Maybe I should actually try a more affordable pair of white jeans to see if I wear them a lot! I’ll check out JC Penney! 🙂

Ugh. I have no trips planned. I need to change that ASAP. You will LOVE St. John. I stayed for 11 days at Caneel Bay. No matter where you go you will love it. If The Fish Trap is still around go there and order the tuna. It is to die for!!

I used that exact same picture of Sandra Bullock for my last haircut and my stylist nailed it. It’s very flattering.

I’m a huge fan of Paige Jeans. They couldn’t be any softer…wonder if they have a white version…

I should show my stylist that picture! Hopefully it works out for me like it did for you!

I’ve never tried on Paige jeans. Thanks for the suggestion!

I have a pair of Joe’s (bootcut) & Seven for All Mankind (skinny) white jeans…like how I justify owning two pairs of white jeans? Love them both and they have held up well! I do remember that the J Brand jeans felt like heaven but were definitely a little to see through. Enjoy your weekend! The weather is beautiful!

Joe’s Jeans are my absolute favorite brand of jeans. What makes it even better is that Marshall’s will have them in stock sometimes.

Love St John! My husband and I have been 7 or 8 times. Where are you staying? Our favorite dinner restaurants are Fatty Crab (get the pork belly and pickled watermelon rind) and DaLivio but there are so many amazing places to eat there. Last year we did 8 Tuff Miles, a race they have in february which is basically straight up hill then straight down. You won’t have your fastest time, but it’s really fun and the views are awesome. Can’t wait to hear about your trip.

Oh awesome!! I’ve never been so I love hearing from people who have! Thanks for all the tips!! Let me know if you have any other suggestions – food, activities, anything! We are staying in Rendezvous Bay.

I’m really hoping there are pretty hikes and places to run. I like beaches but I’m not a HUGE water sports fan so I like other options too. 🙂 I’m planning to pack pretty light – just bathing suits, cover-ups, tennis shoes, sandals and simple dresses for dinner. Think that’s ok?

We were really hoping there would be a race when we are there; sounds like we’ll just have to go back in February! 😉

Good for you, booking a fun trip for your 30th! Any tropical destination has to be fabulous, right!?!? I’ve owned one pair of Joe’s Jeans and they were great quality, however, in general, just look for a jean that has no more than 5% spandex if you are concerned about the shape holding – its all about the fabric content, and not necessarily the label! Good luck finding the perfect ones!

p.s. Love that quote, and I wish more people would take it to heart – it would make all of us better people!
