This week’s Friday Favorites includes my obsession with my new running watch, Cole Haan Tali Bow Ballet Flats, a gorgeous pair of new black heels, and some hand wash (being excited about hand wash is how you know you’re an adult).
Happy Friday! I am so ready for the weekend, especially since it’s a long weekend (I have Monday off work – I hope you do too!). I have hair appointment tonight (let’s not talk about my roots please) and a date night with Tommy tomorrow, which I’m really excited about. It’s been a busy week and we haven’t seen much of each other, and I miss him. 🙂
Alright, onto Friday Favorites! Here’s what I’m loving lately!
I. am. obsessed. with this running watch. It’s SO light and comfortable to run with, and I love how much information I can see on the screens while I’m running (much more easily than the 210). I wear it almost all the time since I LOVE seeing my heart rate throughout the day. It also acts as a fitness tracker, and while I don’t track my steps, I like the “move” reminder. I’m pretty good at getting up from my desk during the day and pacing during conference calls, so I use the “move” reminder as a prompt to take 10 deep breaths. And then I can watch my heart rate go back down since work stresses me out these days. 😉 I wear it for treadmill runs too so I can see my heart rate and track my laps (although I’ve noticed the distance doesn’t match what the treadmill shows.)
They are beautiful and they are comfortable. (I think I’ll wear them for date night this weekend!) I was a little nervous buying them since they’re pretty dressy and I wasn’t sure how much use I’d get out of them, but I’m so glad I did. (P.S. They’re on sale! They only have a few sizes left so snag them before they’re gone entirely.)
I am really picky about shoes, especially flats. I would prefer to wear heels all day everyday if my feet allowed it since I think they just look so lovely. Unfortunately my 32-year-old body thinks wearing heels all day is a bad idea. So if I have to wear flats, they better be darn cute and they better be darn comfortable. These Cole Haan Tali Bow Ballet Flats passed the test. (They’re also on sale. Noticing a trend? I have a hard time paying full price for things… )
I am neurotic about washing my hands in the kitchen, especially when dealing with raw meat. I bet I washed my hands over 10 times yesterday when prepping chicken for this crockpot recipe (which was delicious, by the way). This hand soap stuff doesn’t dry my hands out and having the lotion right next to it is nice so I can moisturize as soon as I’m done. I’m pretty bad at remembering to put on hand lotion and this helps a lot. Am I the last person to realize the beauty of nice hand wash/lotion set by the kitchen sink? (And yes, my attempt to switch to safer personal care items continues, which I talked about a little in this post.)
My lovely readers are on my favorite list this week. Although you’re always one of my favorites, I’m just feeling especially grateful for y’all lately. I LOVE hearing from you — your comments on the blog, Instagram, Facebook and Snapchat (I’m terilynhutchie on there) and your emails. I feel like I’ve made so many friends, near and far, through the blog and I’m very grateful.
Below are some specific blog requests I’ve gotten lately from many of you, so let me know what you’re most interested in and I’ll prioritize getting. I’m also working on a reader survey to learn more about what you want to see on this ol’ bloggy in 2017, so stay tuned for that. (It’ll come with a fun giveaway as a thank you for taking it!)
