We made it to the weekend! (Although, I bet some of you had today off. Jealous!) I came home from work, made dinner (love the plantain and black bean dish!), and took Maizey on a nice leisurely walk. We walked for nearly 45 minutes but didn’t even get 2 miles in. She looooves stopping to sniff. 🙂
We got back and I sat down with a magazine and a glass of wine…it was a tiny bit chilly but I stayed bundled up from my walk and enjoyed the crisp, fresh air.Â
Maizey was all up in my business which made magazine reading and wine drinking a bit difficult. She kept trying to climb up in my chair, silly girl.Â
Despite our long walk, Maizey still had tons of energy. (That’s a boxer for ya!) We played in the backyard for a bit until my fingers got too cold.Â
Now I’m folding laundry, vacuuming and am about to plop down to watch Scandal!Â
I haven’t done a “You Must ” post in a while because I keep forgetting so I’m going to start doing them on Fridays and get in the habit! I love other bloggers’ posts of Friday Favorites (especially Iowa Girl Eats!) so I’m gonna copy!
Here’s what I’ve been loving lately!Â
These red/orange (what’s the word for this color??) Banana Republic Sloan Slim Ankle Pants. They are so comfortable and I’m surprised by how many things the bright color goes with. Having work clothes that fit well, that I look forward to wearing and in bright colors makes such an impact on my outlook for the day! I have them in emerald green too. I want allll the colors, including basic black.Â
Merlot!  I used to not like Merlot, but I’ve had a couple good ones at restaurants recently at the recommendation of servers so I’ve bought a couple bottles and have really enjoyed them! I don’t know if I’m just buying better Merlots or my tastes have changes. I’m really loving this DeLoach Merlot tonight!
Republic of Tea Hi Caf Green Tea. I love green tea but sometimes I want a little more caffeine to start my day. This is perfect! It has double the caffeine of regular green tea, and I love the ginger kick. I really like drinking this before running (especially long runs) because sometimes coffee creates, ahem, problems that require me to stick around the house longer than I want to or, worse, issues mid-run. (Republic of Tea sent me this for free, but I love it! I would (and plan to when I’m out) spend my own money on it.)
Alright, that’s all I’ve got for now! Enjoy your evening!
What’s your favorite red wine? Yay or nay to Merlot?
What do you drink before long runs?

atMoss Roxx old vine Zin from Oak Ridge Winery is great. A bit pricey for me to have often, about $21 at my Harris Teeter in Charlotte. They didn’t have it in Durham when I was there, but try it if you find it!

atI LOVE red wine. My all time favorite is a malbec. I’ve found that Alamos is a pretty good one and its pretty inexpensive.
