Friends, Food and Full of Gratitude

Hey Guys! Happy almost Friday! I’m so ready for the weekend. This week has kind of dragged on, but I’ve had lots of fun things with friends which has helped. I went to yoga with Anna last night, and then headed to Finnigan’s Wake afterwards where we ordered identical meals and drinks (kale salad with goat cheese & salmon + cabernet). Then today I met up with Carolyn (the owner of Pure Barre Winston-Salem) and Liz for lunch at Pane e Vino (for you WS folks, that’s the restaurant that used to be Simply Yummy). The weather was beautiful – I even got a little color on my arms – and I had an awesome salad with the BESSSST gluten-free bread that they make in-house.  It doesn’t look special but trust me, it is.

And then tonight, I met up with my friend Lindsay (my have Camino barista turned dear friend) and her new(ish) sweet girl, King. Seriously, how darling is she?

She is such a happy girl and a really good baby. I loved getting to play with her and catch up with Lindsay. King conked out once her sweet mom took her back. I started feeling close to conking out too, so I headed home feeling like I didn’t have nearly enough time to catch up. Time flies with friends!

Backing up a little: This morning, I did an easy 5 miler…although to be honest, it didn’t really feel easy. My legs felt heavy and stiff – probably from yoga the night before – and took until about mile 4 to loosen up. Of course, right when I started feeling good,  I needed to head home to get ready. I hate that! But, it was a beautiful morning and despite the sluggishness, I really enjoyed the run. I left my earbuds at home, the birds were chirping, it was light out, and all the trees are neon green as the buds turn to fresh leaves. I love runs where I just take time to appreciate my surroundings.

And tonight, I’m just feeling full. Full of good food (I ate at Mooney’s Mediterranean with John before meeting up with Lindsay). ;), But mostly, I’m feeling full of gratitude for the wonderful friends I have and for this little town.
