Happy Saturday! This was a doozy of a week. Work was really stressful and I had some personal stuff going on too that was pretty tough. So I was thrilled when the weekend hit and John took me out a date. We were planning to do something low-key but ended up having a really nice meal at Spring House. We started with a drink in their bar area, which is so cozy. I got a Dark & Stormy and John ordered a glass of the merlot after the bartender sold him on it. We’re not typically Merlot fans but we both loved this. (Does anyone know the quote referenced in the blog title? 🙂 )
After our drink, we moved into the main dining room (they have 4 or 5 dining areas and they’re all beautiful). Our meal was fantastic. We both started with a shrimp, fennel, beet, goat cheese and spinach salad. It was incredible! I got crispy salmon with thai curry sauce. I wanted more curry sauce! 🙂 They said the phyllo dough around the salmon was GF…I don’t think it was, but I was ok. I really hope they keep both of these items on the menu when they swap it out next week. (They change their menu seasonally.)
It was fun to get dressed up (I rarely wear heels on the weekends since I wear them all week at work) and have a lovely date. We laughed all night and then I came home and crashed into bed.
(Pants and necklace are from J.Crew, sweater is from Bloomingdales, heels are from Piperlime I think?)
One other thing that cheered me up mid-week was this print that mysteriously came in the mail. It’s totally my style and I love the quote, so I knew it had to be from someone that knew me well. Turns out it was Meg! She’s such a great friend.
Have a great day! I’m headed out for a 5-6 mile run and then getting my eyebrows threading (YAY!!!). 🙂
Do you typically wear heels or flats to work? Or, if you don’t work, what do you usually sport?
