CrossFit/ Running/ Weekly Workouts

Last week’s workouts + a new (to me) TV show I’m binging on

Hey hey! Happy Monday! I had a great weekend. Friday night we had dinner with some friends, I went for a run on Saturday morning and then went to yoga with Anna at Foothills Brewery Tasting Room. Well, it actually wasn’t in the tasting room since they were doing construction or something, but regardless – yoga with a friend was fun! (They held it in the nearby indoor track where I did my first CrossFit competition.)

I also spent some quality time in front of my TV this weekend. 🙂 I started watching Friday Night Lights and I’m already hooked. So good! I posted my snack plate on Instagram and a lot of you commented how much you love FNL. I don’t think I’ve ever gotten so many comments on an Instagram post – ha! Can’t wait to keep watching!

Last week’s workouts were pretty good, but man, I am so over this heat and humidity. It’s been absolutely brutal lately. Every morning the humidity has been around 85-95% with temperatures in the mid to high 70s. I do love the sweaty runs, but I’m starting to itch for fall weather.

Last Week’s Workouts

M – 3.5 miles, 8:15 pace

This was my second run in my Newtons. I didn’t really love them… my legs felt heavy and awkward. I’m hoping it was the weather or tired legs, but I’m going to try to withhold judgment on the new shoes for now.

W – 5.3 miles, 8:30 pace + CrossFit

  • Back squat: 4×6, increasing weight each set. I worked up to 145#.
  • 6 rounds: 10 box jumps, 15 kettlebell swings, 20 sit-ups
    • I finished in 11:13

Th – Bootcamp at Top Tier CrossFit; I finished in 27 minutes I think?

  • 8 rounds:
    • 15 sit-ups
    • 12 jump squats
    • 9 push-ups
    • 6 pull-ups
    • 200 m run

F – 6.6 mile run, 8:30 pace

S – 5 mile run, 7:45 pace

S – 6.2 mile run with Allison, 8:20 pace

We grabbed nitro coffee after our run at Ardmore coffee and just chatted and relaxed. It was so nice after a super sweaty run.

Total Miles: 26.6

I’ll have another post for you later today with some of my eats from the past week. Have a great Monday!

I’m trying not to wish away summer, but yeah these SUPER humid days are the worst… especially since the AC is my car is broken (and supposedly will cost a grand to fix, so I’m just dealing with it ugh)!

FNL was my all-time favorite TV series until I watched Parenthood! Have you watched It yet? I just learned that both were produced by the same creators so it makes sense that I liked both so much. Watch Parenthood!!
