Hi friends! Long time, no blog! Between moving, adjusting to Charlotte, working, travelling (some personal, some for work) yada yada, life has just felt a little crazy. And, honestly, I just haven’t felt like blogging and I’m not really of the mindset of blogging just to blog.
So how about a quick recap?
I had a girls’ weekend in Raleigh a few weeks ago. I hadn’t spent much time in Raleigh in the past and I LOVED that city. A lot. And it was great to see all my friends. I’m so lucky to have such an amazing group of women in my life.
I’ve been trying to figure out my running life here — where to run, time of day to run, who to run with, etc. I miss my old WS running routes desperately and just being able to zone out without thinking of where I’m going, but I know new routes will come in time. I’ve had a few great runs though, with pretty scenery and some new friends!
I went to the NoDa Brewing Run Club last Wednesday which was really fun. The Charlotte running community is super active and super friendly; I’ve had multiple runners reach out to me who I’ve been introduced to through various people, inviting me to run. To say I’m grateful is an understatement.
I’ve also had a number of Charlotte blog readers reach out to me. Again, to say I’m grateful is an understatement. I have a few ladies I still need to make plans to meet up with (I’m talking about you Nicole, Casey, and Sarah!). Hilary has been a life-saver since moving to Charlotte. She reached out to me when I moved here and we instantly hit it off when she invited me out for coffee. The amount of good friends I’ve made through blogging/Twitter is equally hilarious and amazing. 🙂
Maizey is also adjusting to life in Charlotte.
Oh, and I cut my hair and went really blonde again. I’m a big fan. I feel so much more “myself” with short hair. Within 48 hours of cutting it, I got told by four different people that I was “sassy”, “classy”, “saucy” and “spicy” with the new look. Bahahaha. Not sure if my behavior changed with the hair or if their perceptions of me changed.
For you WS folks, Jodi at The Escape Salon on Trade Street does my hair and she. is. amazing. I still drive to Winston-Salem to have her do my hair. I’ve had multiple friends start going to her and they all love her too. (Tip – get on her waiting list for your first appointment since she can be hard to get into before you regularly get on her books.)
I just realized I kind of did a rehash of my Instagram pictures. Ummm oops. But hey, baby steps back into blogging, right? I do have some other posts swirling in my brain these days that I hope to put up soon:
- pineapple goat cheese chicken recipe
- chocolate protein pancakes recipe
- tips for adjusting to life in a new city (my friends may argue I can’t speak to this given all the “WHAT DID I DO???” texts they’ve gotten from me the past few months)
- Charlotte dining (soooo much good food in this city)
- getting out of a running funk
- product reviews (chocolate! smoothies! Fabletics! SunWarrior Protein)
- switching up my running shoes (no more Vibrams…gasp!)
So, let me know if you have a preference on what I blog about next! 🙂
Hope you have a lovely Saturday! I’m off to go for a run, cold and allergies be damned, and then doing a little shopping with Hilary this afternoon. I’ve got a golfing date tomorrow afternoon and have no clothes that are golf course appropriate. And no, I can’t golf. This should go well.

atI do rehash posts of my instagram feed all the time, ha! I mean it’s what’s going on, so it makes sense. And not everyone is on insta! You know I love the hair. I feel so much more myself with short hair too. Have a good weekend! (I say that is if I’m not going to be texting you at all or something, ha)

atYeyyyy I am so glad you loved my adopted city! I love it too 🙂
I am so, so happy the running community is reaching out to you like it does so well! All of my Raleigh running buddies have moved away, and I need to get back out there and meet some new friends!
LOVE the hair, it looks absolutely fabulous!
I always like to hear others tips on adjusting to a new place. I have started over so many times that no matter where I live, I always feel new. Sometimes no matter how long we have been somewhere, we all need a little jolt to wake us up.

atAh I love that you moved to a new city, and blog readers are reaching out to you! I moved countries (Canada to California) and 1 person reached out – it did feel a little weird at first, but we totally hit it off!
