The snow just kept coming last night and most of today! This was last night when we had about 3″.
Maizey loved the snow. Silly girl.
When I went to bed, we had probably 5″ of snow, and then it started sleeting as I was reading in bed, and then it apparently we had freezing rain last night too because I woke up and all the snow was covered in a sheet of ice. Poor Maizey was NOT amused. I felt so bad for her!!
She was a little better later in the day when we took her for a walk around the block to go potty. (She is refusing to go in the backyard.)
I worked from home today, which was really nice and cozy. (Except I miss having two computer screens!) With all this snow yesterday and today, I’ve been eating/drinking lots of comfort food/beverages: turkey sweet potato quinoa chili, shakshuka, coffee (I just discovered the best K-cups! stay tuned!), red wine (obviously), chocolate chip cherry oatmeal cookies (a tweaked version of Super Charge Me cookies from Eat, Drink & Be Vegan), and tea.
I’m debating whether or not to do an at-home yoga workout tonight since I can’t get to the gym (plus, it’s closed anyway), but I think I’ll probably just take a day off since yesterday’s intervals were brutal. I did, however, take time to do one yoga pose to enter a giveaway on the Village Yoga Winston-Salem Facebook page! Like my photo please! I have a chance to win a 30 day unlimited yoga pass.
This is the one I entered.
But we had some good outtakes too!
Maizey was cracking me up and I kept falling over.
Have a great night!
What are your comfort foods/drinks? (links to recipes are welcome!)
Do you like snow? I’m good with the occasional storm, but I don’t miss the months of cold and snow that I had in Utah growing up. Although, it is a pain with storms in NC because the roads are so terrible and I get trapped!

atHahahaha oh my goodness, I love the videos of Maizey, she is too cute in the snow!
I am trapped like you. I have a feeling that by tomorrow morning I will be clawing my way into the office just to get out of the house! Stay warm!

atI used to love it when I lived in NC. It was beautiful – now that we moved to PA and I see it almost every day I am just tired of it!

atI love the snow… for like, a day. It makes me homesick for NY but then I remember that if I still lived there, I’d be seeing this for 7 months and I’d still be expected to be productive and show up places.
My snow day comfort food (now that the little one has gone to bed) is stovetop popcorn and gin & tonic. (I, um, forgot to buy wine before this storm… oops.)
Hope you win the yoga pass!

atYOU FORGOT TO BUY WINE?!?!?!?!
Also, we really need to be neighbors. I also ate stovetop popcorn last night. 🙂

atMaizey is the cutest! I am going to have to send you a video one time of Chloe in the snow – we obviously get a lot of snow up here in Canada during the winter and Chloe will run along with her nose to the ground eating it — so so funny!
Stay safe on those roads!

atYES! SEnd me a video of Chloe! I love her!! 🙂

atMy favorite comfort foods are oatmeal, asian-style noodle soup (there is NOTHING like it seriously), thick stew, or anything my momma makes. 😀
i’m over at rutgers in new jersey and we’ve had so many university snow days!! it’s borderline ridiculous now.

atMy favorite comfort foods are any chilis or soups that I can have several meals off of. My new favorite is Creamy White Chili from Mel’s Kitchen Cafe’. I did the crock pot version and it was perfect for me and my husband to eat for 2 meals. It tasted even better the 2nd day. Don’t fear the whipping cream 🙂
I don’t mind snow so much. I always plan ahead and hit the stores early so I can stay in and cook.
