One of my favorite places to shop for running clothes and workout gear is Athleta. A few years ago I started to grow bored of my workout wardrobe, so I took a trip to our local Athleta for the first time in years. Let’s just say, I was totally shocked by their selection. I wasn’t expecting so many colors or styles– at ALL!

Now, I wear their running shorts more than most in my rotation, their tanks are my #1 favorite for outdoor runs, and their joggers have become my go-tos for cold golf days. I don’t know what changed or when Athleta became so cute (maybe it’s always been great and I just didn’t know!), but I’m here for it.

Today I’m sharing a roundup of my favorite Athleta pieces since they just announced that everything on their site is 20% off through TONIGHT (1/23)!

If you’ve been eyeing things from their website (or live near a store), I definitely recommend taking advantage of this sale. While they have sales often, they almost never include EVERYTHING on their website, so this is a big deal.

Let’s jump in!

My Athleta Sale Picks

Mesh Racer Run Short 4″

The Mesh Racer Run Short in the 4″ length is my favorite pair of running shorts, hands down. I’m 5’1″ and nearing 40 years old, so I struggle to find shorts that don’t look way too long on my petite frame but still feel appropriate for a 37 year old. This pair is the perfect balance. They’re made of a water-repellent fabric, perfect for all-weather runs. They also have two pockets: 1 secure zip pocket and 1 hidden key envelope pocket, which I love. I own these in multiple colors!

They fit TTS, and I wear an XS.

Brooklyn Skort 16″

I have a few picks when it comes to skorts I wear for golf, but the Brooklyn Skort by Athleta is near the top. This flattering (and breathable) skort is a perfect length for the golf course (16″), and can easily be paired with any collared shirt. I wear an XS in this style.

Rainier Jogger

My favorite cold weather joggers are the Rainier style from Athleta. They’re the perfect thickness for a round of golf under 50 degrees. I like that they fit and feel like a loose pair of leggings, but they’re tailored enough for a golf course. The only thing I don’t love about them is that the front pockets sit in a weird spot, so I’m unlikely to actually use the pockets. However, the sleek pocket design is part of the reason they’re so flattering, so you have to choose fashion over functionality for the pockets in this instance. See a YouTube try-on of these joggers here.

I wear and 0 Petite in these.

Brooklynn Ankle Pant

I got this pair of Brooklynn Ankle pants in the early fall this past year. They’re a great weight for when it’s 50-60 degrees, not heavy or warm, but lightweight and breathable. They have a flattering shape with a tapered leg. The fit is slim through the leg and eases up below the calf, which is different from the Rainier pair above. I wear a Petite 0 in these too (and own two colors). I love the side panel detail and the four pockets (which are more functional than the pair above). See a YouTube try-on of these pants here.

I recommend both pairs of joggers I have, but I do wear them in different temperatures.

In Motion Seamless Tank

My favorite tank top for running is the In Motion Seamless Tank by Athleta. I searched high and low for a tank that didn’t hug my stomach but still looked flattering and feminine, and this tank won all-around. I own it in 4 colors, and it’s still my #1 pick two years later. It’s seamless and has open hole stitch-work for lots of breathability. I wear an XS.

Momentum Seamless Half Zip

Picking out the right gear for cold weather running can be a huge challenge (which is why I wrote this post), but one thing that is absolutely essential is a high quality half-zip pullover. I wear a half-zip in the fall as my running top, in the winter as a base layer, and in the early spring on it’s own, as well. It’s one of my most-worn pieces of workout gear. My favorite half-zip is the Momentum Seamless Half Zip from Athleta. It’s smooth, doesn’t chafe under my arms, and fits like a glove. I wear an XS.
