Hey guys! I had another great strength training workout this morning! I did the same routine I shared with you a few posts ago, but this time I subbed the squats for box jumps. And today, I added something fun to my workout. New workout clothes! I rarely buy new workout clothes, especially coordinating ones. I just wear race shirts with everything. 🙂 Soooo I was really excited to get some new workout clothes from Target® C9. I got to pick what items I wanted and I always get very neutral items on the rare occasions I buy workout clothes, so I decided to go out on a limb with some brighter colors and patterns since they were free!
I got the C9 Run Short and two C9 Sporty Layered Run Tanks.
I LOVE all three. The shorts are a perfect length and have a nice wide waistband. They also have an interior key pocket, which is good. They are a little snug in my thighs, but that is a me problem. I tend to size up in shorts so give my quads a little breathing room. But, these are just a teensy bit snug so I decided to keep the size I had, and have actually been happy with them. The interior lining fits better and they just look like they fit appropriately vs. some of my bigger sized shorts.
I have been really impressed with the top too. The built-in bra actually holds me in! I never have that luck with tanks with built-ins. I don’t think I’d run any real distance in it since there was a little bouncing, but I did three miles in (running to and from the gym for weight training) and it was fine for that distance.
My favorite part is the back! Look how cute! (Do you know how hard it is to take a picture of the back of yourself? 🙂 )
This one isn’t as bright, but it matches the shorts perfectly, which makes me feel oh-so-put-together. 🙂
I really like these tops for weight training. I hate wearing sleeves when weight training and these are nice because they aren’t tight, but they still are fitted and flattering. And, I can do all my movements easily. Does anyone else feel restricted in sleeves when lifting weights? Gah! it drives me crazy. I wanna try this Class FitSugar Target® Shoulders workout the next time I do strength training. Or, I guess I could even do it at home! (I just tend to workout so much harder at the gym vs. at-home workouts. Anyone else?) Side note: how cute are her shoes? I feel like I need them to go with the outfit since I have the shorts and top. 😉
Another cute back design!
I really am impressed with this workout gear. I wasn’t quite sure what to expect from a Target® line. Bottom line: would I spend my own money on these items? Absolutely.Â
Do your workout outfits match? Do you care if they do? I’m kind of amazed by how much I liked feeling like my workout outfit was cute. hahaha. And, I’ve gotten compliments the three times I’ve worn the tops (so far!). I wanna do weight training more just so I can wear these more. I think they’d be great for Pure Barre or a bootcamp type class too.

atI’ve loved all my target c9 workout clothes!
On a completely separate note what camera is that? And do you like it? I’m looking for a camera for my Italy trip (I always just use my iphone)

atIt’s a Samsung NX2000 and I do like it! I love how big the display screen is and I love that it’s white. It’s really slim, which is nice. Obviously not as as slim as a point&shoot, but it’s a great size for a DSLR. However, I had issues with my memory card and could never get it resolved or get a new one with customer service despite six calls and numerous tweets, DMs and emails. I had to go buy one myself, so I was out $80 which SUCKED.

atI tend to feel like I get a better workout when I wear cute workout clothes. I think it’s because of all the mirrors in the gym. When I look better I feel better and when I feel better I work better. Or something like that?

atThat logic makes sense to me! 🙂

atoh yes i’m a huge fan of target workout clothes. always have been!! love their fun colors and how their styles are up to par with the more expensive stuff.

atI’m a big fan of Target’s workout clothes, too. I also can’t stand to wear sleeves (for any type of workout, really), & I’m a big matching workout clothes junky.

atI have followed you for a while and always love your posts. I am a new SLOW runner (you could probably walk briskly next to me 🙂 ) and often times I feel intimidated by other blogs because it seems so unattainable to me.
I want to say THANKS – in a HUGE way for the post with Target clothes. I can’t spend a ton of money on running/workout clothes and it’s nice to see someone recommending clothes a more realistic price tag.

ataw yay! This made my day! I have the more expensive version of these tanks from Lululemon that I got when I had a gift card, and I actually prefer the Target version!

atI definitely take time to find a outfit that matches before I workout. I guess I feel better and more confident when I am wearing something that looks good together. I’ve seen several Target C9 posts like this, and it is tempting me to go buy some new workout clothes, which means the company is succeeding at getting more people to buy their clothes. 😉

atUm, yeah, targeted campaigns like this always work on me. 🙂 I noticed it with a gluten-free recovery bar a few weeks ago and I was like, I NEED THAT.

atI always match! Helps my workouts to feel put together! Also own some C9 workout clothes. They are great.

atI’m glad i’m not the only person who loves their workout clothes to have cute designs. Nice outfits.

atLove C9 workout clothes. They are some of my favorites. Side note, I also can’t stand sleeves when weight training. Feels restricting! Thanks for the post!

atThanks for this review. But “tight in the thighs” isn’t a “you” problem. It is also a “me” problem, which means it is many people’s problem. I have athletic thighs, maybe because I bike even more than I run, maybe because, uh, that’s just my body. And it is a problem with shorts design that they don’t fit those of us with some meat on our legs. I will not be buying those shorts for that reason.

atThank you for your comment Becky! Such a great point – it’s not a “me” problem. Lots of women have athletic thighs. I often feel like I’m the only one who struggles to find things that have space for mine and still fit everywhere else. Thanks for the reminder that it’s not just me and that it’s not a “problem”!
