Push-up Challenge

One of my goals for 2010 is to increase the number of push-ups I can do (from my toes). I originally was aiming towards 50 consecutive push-ups, but then I found a plan online that trains you to do ONE HUNDRED consecutive push-ups. So, I thought, eh, why not? Join the challenge or just follow my progress and cheer me on! Leave a comment and let me know if you’d like to be added to the list of challengers. (You know you want to.) You don’t have to do it exactly like me – go from your toes, aim for 50, aim for 5 – whatever pushes you.

I started the push-up challenge today. I think that you must have made a mistake because I don’t see Rob’s name anywhere on the list of participants.

I am in! I just mentioned this to my fiance, who already does his push-ups regularly, and he said he’d do them with me! I’m behind, but knowing you guys have already accomplished what I am worked towards will be motivating! Here we go!

Oh and I added a couple spinning playlists, with more to come!

How have i missed your blog for this long? I LOVE this idea and i think it is great you are completely rocking this challenge. Push-ups are no doubt one of my all time favorite workouts for your entire upper body! They are so versatile and i think it is excellent that you have an entire page dedicated solely to them! I can’t wait to keep reading your blog and see what hairstyle you come up with next! For the record, i’m a fan of the faux-hawk 🙂

How’s the challenge going? I started this challenge a few months ago when I could do about 50 pushups, and I only lasted about a week. I could only do a few more than when I started, but my form was a lot better. For whatever that’s worth.

Then I gave it up because it was sheer torture: “On your fifth set, pushups to failure.” Good luck!

Oh, this is cool. One of my goals is to be able to do 100 at a time, too! I’m up to doing a set of 55, then 35, then 10. But not the whole thing . . . yet! Will have to check out this plan 🙂

What happens after 50? Did you give up? Not that I’m close to 50 consecutive but I have the push-up splits with my running schedule for the next 12 weeks.
