Recommit This Labor Day Weekend

Injuring or even killing someone because you were texting while driving would change your life. Forever. There are hundreds of stories of people who looked at their phone for only a split second to glance at their phone….and that split second caused an accident.

Acclaimed filmmaker Werner Herzog created a new documentary about the dangers of texting and driving. I hope you’ll watch and recommit to next texting and driving (or take the pledge if you haven’t), particularly over this holiday weekend with so many people on the road.

Have a fabulous holiday weekend. Be safe out there! xo

What are you up to this holiday weekend? I’m running a half marathon! Tell you more later!

I have to say I have been guilty of this in the past – but I am definitely taking the pledge! It’s never THAT important and never worth it!

I just want you to know that your posts on this subject – and particularly all the videos you link – have made me stop this behavior. I should have done it long ago, particularly as soon as I had a child in the car with me, but the important thing is that I’ve stopped and I credit your posts with really bringing it to my attention! Most of the time I put my phone out of reach in the car and turn the sound off, which helped me break the automatic habit of just glancing down to check. Those videos were so powerful – thanks for sharing them. I feel like one day we are going to look back at this and think it is crazy that so many of did this, in the same way we now look back at driving without a seatbelt!

this made my day! I’m so happy to hear this campaign has made a difference in even one life – especially yours. 🙂

That’s so funny you said that about seatbelts – I scheduled some tweets yesterday about this post and compared texting & driving to seatbelts!! It’ll pop up later today. ha! great minds…
