I’ve mentioned multiple times that I have a really hard time spending money on good workout clothes. It’s silly considering I spend a LOT of time in workout clothes. In 2017, I’ve already logged over 200 miles and spent 29 hours working out. (I’m obsessed with Strava. I love data. đ ) So, I’ve slowly been getting some new things and putting them to the sweat/chafe/comfort test. And I have some major winners to share with y’all! These seven pieces are the best running clothes and they all work well for crosstraining too – I’ve put them through the CrossFit test! Plus, they’re great as winter transitions to spring since they layer well and can also be worn solo when it warms up. You can click each item on the picture below to shop or read below for more details on each!
Running Pants
It’s rare to find pants that work for running AND CrossFit – the fit is just different for how my body moves. So I prioritized finding pants that work for running first given my training focus right now. Luckily,  all of the are great for CrossFit too!
I’m especially impressed with the Zella leggings since they’re billed as an all-workout legging and not specifically for running — but they’ve been great. Really comfortable and so dang cute. (Note: they run large. I returned my usual XS for an XXS.)
My love for Nike Epic Run crops continues. They fit great and this pattern is awesome. I also tried them at CrossFit this week and they passed the test!
I got a pair of Saucony Bullet Capris at my local Fleet Feet and they’re AWESOME. They are a bit shorter than my Nike Crops, which is nice for warmer days and they have a mesh panel along each leg that can hold GUs. The first time I ran in them, I logged 16 miles and had no issues. They DEFINITELY pass the sweat and chafe test!
Tanks
I’ve been really impressed with Lululemon tanks, which I’ve never had before. I’ve been wearing them to CrossFit and for a couple treadmill runs; they are so lightweight and so cute. Two thumbs up!
Bonus, this one is now on sale! I just realized I don’t have a great picture in either top! But I’m wearing the gray one in the CrossFit picture above. đ
Long Sleeved Tops
These are major winners the past few weeks – I’ve worn them on almost every long run since I got them.
I love love love this long-sleeve shirt from Nike. It’s so comfortable and soft and a perfect layering weight. It’ll be great to wear solo for spring running too once it starts to warm up. I plan to get a few other colors.
This Lululemon sweater is what I’ve been layering on top of the Nike shirt for runs in the 20s and 30s. It’s a thicker weight like a jacket, but I like that I don’t have the bulk of a jacket, especially for longer runs. (Although, I am STILL on a hunt for a full zip jacket since sometimes I want that style on a run!)
Happy running and happy shopping! If you have some new gear that you’re obsessed, share in the comments! (P.S. The Nordstrom Winter Sale just started today! SO many good things.)

atI’ve been such a fan of the Nike Epic Run Crops for years…I basically only buy them at this point. Since I’m in professional school, I don’t have time or money to go look for deals and test the thickness/fit, but I still want quality and functional workout clothes…and I’m still wearing the crops I bought YEARS ago on a regular basis and they are still awesome. I love that I can just order my size and know they’ll work wonderfully — no second thoughts!
