Sage & Harper Bags: Review (Giveaway CLOSED)

Hi friends! Thanks for all your entries into the Keurig giveaway! I got lots of ideas of how to try my coffee besides just black! I won’t get around to picking a winner tonight so I’m extending the deadline until end of day Wednesday (September 11) so hurry over to enter if you haven’t! (Same for the Fulton & Roark giveaway. Since yesterday was my birthday (I’m entering the last year of my 20s!), I’m posting my favorite giveaway last to celebrate with y’all. 🙂 And then I swear, I will post all the Oregon pictures and restaurant recommendations!

Now, on to the giveaway…. !

I’m kind of a neutral purse kind of girl. I own two black purses and a cream one. I have one simple teal one but that’s the extent of my bravery with colors. I don’t own any patterned purses and didn’t think I really liked patterned purses. I have since changed my stance on that.

Let me introduce you to Sage & Harper.

Actually, wait, let me introduce you to the Founder & Designer of all the Sage & Harper goodies.

Ali Fenlon

She shares how Sage & Harper came to be and how she learned to sew (loved the story!) on her About page. I think these words from Ali sum it up best: “Sage and Harper was born to be a collection of fashionable beauty. My two loves…fabric and leather do exist in complimentary style. My attraction to all things modern, urban, vintage, colorful and classic are evident in my designs and products.” Her products mix high-quality colorful fabrics and some pieces have leather in the design too.

I actually went to high school with Ali and she is an absolute gem. One of those genuinely nice people who makes you feel like you’re her best friend as soon as you meet her. She has a bright, infectious happiness about her so I was thrilled when she reached out to me via my blog – we hadn’t been in touch in about 10 years! I was also pretty stoked when she offered me a chance to review one of her beautiful bags!

OK, so now let me introduce you to the goodies of Sage & Harper. I selected this beauty for my review.

I was blown away by the quality of this bag. Fabric bags always seem kind of cheap to me, but this one definitely doesn’t. The fabric is soft but sturdy and the bag is constructed extremely well; I can tell it will last for years. The bag has ample pockets (3 exterior, 7 interior!) for keeping everything organized and they’re deep enough so things don’t fall out of the pockets. Again, like I mentioned, i’m not typically a pattern lover but I adore this bag. (Not just saying that cuz I like Ali. 🙂 ) It’s fun but not juvenile.

The only issue I had with the bag was that the strap was really long so the bag went down to about my knees. But, to be fair, I am very short (5’1″). So, I just took it to my local seamstress and had her shorten the strap a bit so it hit closer to my hip. Problem solved! It’s still long enough that I can wear it as a cross body bag too.

I brought this bag on my Oregon trip and I will NEVER travel with another purse again. This one is perfect for travel. I fit my wallet, glasses case, headphones, laptop charger, water bottle, iPhone, DSLR camera, extra camera lens and a tupperware of energy bars in it. And I swear the bag is magic too because it didn’t feel heavy at all. Typically my purse digs into my shoulder when I travel because I stuff so much stuff in it. But the wide strap of this purse made it much more comfortable to carry. But I don’t know how it still felt so light. Magic, I tell you. Also, there is a little bit of padding to the purse which is nice for those of us toting cameras.

The Sage & Harper line-up includes a dozen+ other pattern combos and a few iPad covers too.

    Hello! I would LOVE, LOVE “leather flap 49”. It’s so bright, though if I had to pick a travel bag, I’d match the one with yours. Most of the big bags are sold out, and they’re all so lovely.

    I always carry a compact umbrella which comes in useful but certainly adds a lot of weight to my shoulder bag. I think a cross body bag would be perfect and with cute patterns to boot!

    Love this story! I always have extra hair ties in my purse. Nothing is worse than snapping a hair tie and having to wear hair down and look like Tarzan Jane all day. Always be prepared!

    What do I have in my purse? My husband would say “Too much!” as he always comments on how heavy he thinks my purse is. I always carry my e-reader and some reusable shopping bags. Chapstick and a nail file are also important for me to have on hand.

    Love these bags!! I have been looking for a new bag to contain all of my things but haven’t found anything quite right. I always have the usual suspects-wallet, keys, phone, etc. and now that I have a baby you can usually find a pacifier, snacks, and maybe a diaper if we’re feeling prepared!

    This bag is gorgeous! I am very picky about bags/purses but this just looks perfect! In my purse you can usually find: a wallet, phone, a few lipsticks and chapsticks, a reusable bag for shopping and sunglasses.     I always have a lot in my every day purse… I keep a smaller pouch filled with things I might need like band aids, a Tide pen, bobby pins, lotion, pain killers, etc. I have to have a pen, notepad, and lip balm with me, too.
