You guys know how to dice or slice an avocado, right?
I’m gonna tell you how I do it…because I’m still kind of surprised when I see people fumbling with an avocado, trying to peel it and then slice it. It creates a mushy mess and a lot of precious avocado gets wasted.
So, here’s how:
1. Cut it in half all the way around, vertically, and twist. If you’re using the whole thing, carefully stab the pit with a sharp knife and twist to remove and discard. If you’re only using half, leave the pit in and wrap tightly in plastic wrap. The pit will help keep it fresher longer.
2. Leaving the peel on, slice and dice the avocado right in the peel.
3. Then use a spoon to scoop it out.
You won’t make a slimy mess and you won’t waste any avocado.
If there is any left in the skin after you scoop out the diced avocado, sprinkle a little salt on it and spoon it right from the peel to your mouth. 🙂
