This has been one lazy weekend. I got caught up in a book I’ve been reading (and finished tonight): Not Without My Daughter. I really enjoyed it, but I wouldn’t recommend reading it right before bed thought; it got me too worked up.
Anyway, moving on to the delayed edition of The Weekender.
- I just found this blog about a teacher who is going to eat school lunch for a year. Pretty interesting stuff.
- Mama Pea did a great post about guilt. This is a good reminder that too many of us are too hard on ourselves.
- This post has nothing to do with food or fitness, but I thought it was beautiful.
- I loved Abby’s post on fast food and what’s just.not.right. I liked her conclusion that change needs to happen in families first.
- Gina did a video on how to make her breakfast cookies. I’m pretty sure many a blogger flocked to the kitchen after watching this.
- I’ve loved Gena’s post with top tips for women’s health.
I hope you have a great week ahead of you!
Has anyone seen the movie Not Without My Daughter? Is it good?
What book are you reading these days?

atI read ‘Not Without My Daughter’ years ago and I loved it but it was disturbing. I still remember quite vividly the IUD part. That lady came (I can’t remember her name) when I was little with her daughter and spoke at the Freedom Festival in Provo…it was amazing but I was pretty little like maybe 10 yrs. old so I hadn’t read the book yet but I remember I cried and I loved it. I did see the movie, but again, it was so long ago that I can’t remember it too well. I remembered liking it and I think it stuck pretty well to the book (more dumbed down, but good) and I believe Sally Fields is in it if my memory serves me right.

atI’m glad you got lost in a book. That sounds spectacular..however, you were missed! LOVED your guest post..holy cow was that awesome. Love these links too! Haven’t heard of that book. I’m about halfway thru Born To Run and totally recommend it. I have a few books that are next on my list but can’t decide yet! xo

atYes. It’s a very good movie. I haven’t seen it in a long time, but I remember it well. Sally Field is wonderful in the film.

atIf I could distract myself from reading BLOGS long enough, I may find time for some good books. I am totally into Sci-Fi/Horror (yep, I am that nerd.)…any suggestions?!
P.S. I gave Oli some Pirate’s Booty, and it gave her the hiccups. Adorable, and made me think of you and your boxer!

I don’t think Maizey has ever had the hiccups. that’s so funny!

atHaven’t seen that movie but I am reading Food inc right now and I love it! I just finished food matters which is a really quick read if you want to read that one by mark bittman. It’s really quick because a large portion of it (i think page 120 or so) is recipes

atNWMD is one of my top favorite books…ever. I also really liked the movie even thought I’m not a huge Sally Fields fan.

atI know! I kept meaning to email you; you gave me that book recommendation like 4 years ago and I finally got it!
