The Weekender

This was a whirlwind weekend. It started Thursday night with a dinner outing with two of my friends, followed by watching more friends play kickball. Friday night I tried on 3 different outfits to figure out what to wear to a wedding in Charlotte on Saturday (congrats Kristen & Chase!). And then on Sunday, I had brunch in Charlotte with a favorite blogger and came home to a house that is full of laundry that needs folding, dishes that need washing, and a dog that needs walking. I’m lucky to be busy with so many fun things! Except for the whole laundry and dishes thing.

I’ll share some pictures tomorrow of all the fun. Tonight, you get fun links. 🙂

The Weekender

  • 30 Things I’ve Learned by 30: easily one of the best posts I’ve read all year. I printed off two copies, highlighted the things that particularly resonated with me and hung one copy at work, and one on my fridge.

Great links!! I LOVED Meg’s too and really enjoyed the article about social media. Makes me want to limit myself more. Glad you had fun at the wedding, I loved the party favors!

I just took a dress that I already had and dressed it up with jewery and curly hair. It depends on the time of the wedding, but I think anything with bright colors, sleeveless and knee length is generally perfect. But I’m certainly no expert on wedding etiquette. 🙂

Loved the 30 by 30! The last “wedding” I attended was just a dinner, not very fun… but I have 5 weddings coming up in the next few months and they should all be super fun!

Completely agree that it’s okay to say no sometimes! That’s the hardest thing for me to do!! I always pile up more than I can handle trying to help others. I’m currently trying to work into my daily habits that I can’t do everything and that it’s perfectly fine to tell people, “No, sorry, I can’t do that”.

I love that last link… something I really struggle with. I get so caught up with all the interesting content & blogs to read, all the tweets I want to respond to, instagram photos I want to look at… it can be daunting to figure out where to zoom in. I love the 80/20 rule and this post was a great reminder to think about what I “don’t do” as being as important as what I do.
Actually I loved this whole collection of posts you linked to… and thank you for including mine among them! xo
