The Weekender: Favorite Links + Current Sales

Happy Sunday! This weekend has been NONSTOP. Good stuff, but I’ve barely sat down all weekend and I feel so behind on a lot of things I usually catch up on during the weekend. Thankfully tomorrow is a no-running day so I’ll be able to use my morning to play catch-up. I’m writing this blog post real quick and then headed to a friend’s house for a girls’ night puzzle night. Yes, puzzle night. ha! My friend suggested it and we all jumped at the idea. Sounds like a perfect opportunity to disconnect from devices, which is very often very needed.

I started my weekend with a long run on the treadmill, knocking out 12 “working”miles and then 1 easy cool-down jog. After my run, I stretched for 10 minutes, came home, ate lunch, showered & got ready and prepped for an afternoon of blog work. After working, Tommy and I met a friend for dinner at Diamondback Grill – salad + pesto burger & roasted fingerling potatoes for me. (I love their food even though the service is always really slow).

This morning, I started with another treadmill run, running 5 miles very, very easy. (More details on my runs in tomorrow’s workout recap post!) Then it was off to church, followed by lunch. Tommy prepped and grilled a bunch of chicken for the week while I prepped salads and spent the afternoon running around doing more blog work. Lots of work this weekend, so puzzle night will be the perfect way to wind down.

Let’s get onto some favorite links from the past week and current sales!

Favorite Links:

Just Say No –  How often do we say at work, “Just wondering…”  or “I’m just following up on…”. Great read on why we should nix the word “just”.

Joshua Spodek’s Morning Routine – A few of you suggested Morning Routine newsletter after I blogged about my morning routine and I look forward to that email every Wednesday! Joshua Spodek’s thoughts about systems really resonated with me.

The Morning Shakeout – I love this newsletter by Mario Fraioli every week, but this one was especially interesting to read about his break from social media. Considering I do social media for a living (both with this blog and managing social campaigns for a large national bank), I really never can take a break. I do hide all my social media apps in a folder on the third page of my phone and have all notifications off, which helps keep some balance.

Sweet Potato Kale Fritatta – This looks amazing and would perfect to make at the beginning of the week for a fast breakfast every morning.

We’re (Really Maybe) Moving to Cancun – J is a long-time blog friend of mine and she’s in the running for a pretty cool opportunity. Would you move to Cancun if you could??

I wouldn’t move to Cancun but we moved from New England to Tampa and have zero regrets.
It was even cold here! Did you see it snowed in Tallahassee? It was just above freezing, there was actually frost on my neighbor’s windshield.
