This past weekend was full of good things – the Garth Brooks concert on Friday (more on that later – it deserves its own post), Saturday evening dinner with friends, and a baby shower in Raleigh on Sunday afternoon (plus dinner with my lovely friend Crystal afterwards!). A recap of last week’s workouts, some favorite reads, and a few weekend pics are below.
Last week’s workouts
M – rest day
T – 7x800m repeats, progressively increasing speed (started at 6:40 and ended at 6:15 min/mil pace). 90 second recovery between each. Total was 6 miles in 44 minutes, including warm up and cool down. (treadmill)
W – 4.05 miles, 30 minutes, 7:24 pace (treadmill)
Th – Pure Barre! It’s been so long since I’d been! It was great to be back.
F – 4 miles, 32 minutes with 3×1 minute hill repeats at the end, 4.0/6.0/8.0 incline (treadmill)
S – I was pretty tired from the concert the night before, so I took a day off from running and took Maizey on an hour-long walk instead.
S – 10.25 miles, 1 hr, 16 min, 7:24 ave pace. 5 miles at an easy pace + 5.25 miles at a 7:00 min pace. I was hoping to do the 5.25 sub-7, but I couldn’t get there!
Total mileage: 24 miles
How I feel: My hamstrings and lower back are feeling a bit tweaked and really tight, even with significantly lower mileage than I’ve logged the past few weeks. I feel like there is a little bit of a hitch in my stride. I have got to schedule a massage! (I realize I keep saying this every week…)

What is your must-have dish at Thanksgiving? I love cranberry sauce (homemade!) and sweet potatoes.

atThanks for the share! My big Thanksgiving must- have is stuffing. I’m all about the stuffing. And the gravy. But mostly the stuffing. The best part is actually my Dad’s day after Thanksgiving sandwiches. He batters and fries slices of turkey breast and serves them on sub rolls with all the fixings. Yum!
