The Weekender on a Wednesday

Oh um hey there! It’s Wednesday and I’m just getting to the Weekender! Between internet issues and rediscovering my love of Arrested Development (and Starbucks ice cream), blogging just hasn’t been happening! IMG_2051

But a late Weekender is better than no Weekender. Right? Right.

The Weekender

Oh snap. I suck at this. But I wanna be happy so I’ll try harder.

This is a funnnny race. Especially for spectators. Would you do it?

Again it’s being asked: is healthy food really that expensive?

I’ve been taking B-12 for a while because I read in passing that vegetarians should take it. Didn’t really know why until now. But I’m glad I take it!

Oooh, I love secrets.

The Week in Fitness

People, I am totally suckin’ it up in the workout realm. Oh well. But, I’m going to run tomorrow and Friday, I swear! And maybe even do some yoga over the weekend.

In honor of back-to-school season, what was your favorite school supply to shop for? I loooved new notebooks. Still do actually.

P.S. Crazy Maizey says hi!IMG_2057

So funny you were watching Arrested Development with your ice cream. This morning at work (Starbucks) my co-worker was going on and on about his new favorite TV show (Arrested Development). They must go well together! I’m also glad to read about all the Starbucks “secrets” — I haven’t ever heard of most of them!

I liked the notebooks, as well as the new pens and pencils. With being a teacher, I still get to shop for back to school supplies. 🙂

And I want to snuggle Crazy Maizey.

And also, I like buying pencils. I have a stack of mechanical pencils right now, of all different types, because we are a Scantron-only institution and I needz my number 2’s for the tests. I’m a pencil hoarder!

I don’t think I’ve ever commented on your blog but I’ve been following for a while, I love it! I’m way jealous you can pull off ANY hairstyle! ANYWAY, I totally disagree with folks who say unhealthy food is cheaper. My husband just graduated from medical school we are dirt poor and we now live in Southern California paying an insane amount for rent. Our food budget is not big so I have to be creative- our local health food store has AMAZING deals on produce and bulk grains, nuts, etc. I think as long as you buy produce that is on sale and in season, then it’s loads cheaper than junk/processed foods. I still stay away from the fancy pants organic labeled boxed/canned/snack stuff because I still can’t justify the cost.

Hey Heidi! Thanks for commenting! It’s great to hear that you agree that it can be affordable to eat healthy when it’s done right. Thanks for sharing your thoughts! Now, when can I come visit Southern Cali? 😉

I agree – most of the drinks on the Starbucks secret menu sound nasty! too sugary for me!

I actually loved going back to school shopping. I still do sort of, since I love anything that has to do with organization. I love stores like Staples and the Container Store. 🙂

I love shopping for pen sets, my absolute fav!

I read the Starbucks article, got super excited about a Captain Crunch frappuccino, went and ordered it and the girl looked at me like I was crazy…Epic fail…maybe next time 🙂

What brand of Vitamin B-12’s do you take?

    Maizey is a cutie-pie. I miss my Chubby. 🙁

      Hi Suzanne,

I keep waiting on the AD movie. They’ve been promising it for years!

I take Sundown Naturals (from CVS) B-12.

        Hi Teri,
Chubby was a bichon frise. We had to put her down after 16 years a few weeks ago. (We got her when I was in high school. I’m in my 30’s now.) My family and I were devastated. I still cry every day from missing her. But, I know that she is happy and healthy running around in Heaven…
