Things That Happened This Week

It’s been a busy, but really great week.

It started with a friend date with Meg on Sunday. We had lots of girl talk and drank wine and ate cheese. So so so grateful for her friendship. And hey, did I ever tell you that we met over Twitter? It’s true.

I saw a lovely sunrise on Monday morning.

IMG 3723And I tried a new-to-me k-cup. One of my coworkers who recently took a job at another company gave me this to try. She said they are really affordable and I liked it. I’d like it even more if she was still sitting by me at work while I drank it. I miss her.

IMG 3762It was warm enough one day to take my blazer off while I walked Maizey!! I love the South. (those are top hats on this shirt. love.)

Maizey was also happy to not have to wear her jacket.

However, I made her mad shortly after our walk….

…when I reversed the doorknob on her bedroom door. (Yes, she has her own bedroom. With two pillows on her bed. What?) She can open doors, so I flipped it so I can lock it from the outside. (This was one of the many brilliant life tips Meg had for me on Sunday.) And she no longer gets out and opens all my kitchen cupboards, trash can, etc. I got a little dirty but I felt rather handy. 🙂

I also got a mid-week mid-day visit from Meg and her adoooorable son Bo. Love seeing friends during the week! Love this kiddo too. He is DARLING, right?

Maizey decided to be extra cute this morning and put her paws up on the arm of the couch. She earned a fried egg for her efforts.

What was the highlight of your week?

What do you love more: sunrises or sunsets? Sunrise for me!

That is one talented dog! We have a doorknob like that on one of the kids’ rooms. Emma used to lock Andrew in his room when she was 2 and he was 4. She thought it was hilarious, and he always came out so livid. Maizey is so expressive in her pictures!

I love the sunrise! The best is in the summer when I wake up early enough to catch it while sitting on my back porch with a cup of coffee. Little slice o’ heaven. So fun to see you twice this week – I love the places our conversation go and am grateful for your friendship too. Off to go make myself my first cup of tea from your generous portion you shared with me… ! (PS the breaking bad theme pops into my head every time I get out that tea…. skeeeetchy looking.)

Oh that Maizey! What a mischevous pup – I can’t believe she can open door knobs!! Do you find she still gets into things? We are really lucky with Chloe, we did crate train her but she’s been out of the crate for about 1.5 years now and we’ve left her home alone loose in the house for up to 8 hours and she’s always been fine. The worst she does is get on the couch (which she’s technically not supposed to sleep on but does all the time anyways!) I always get a good long run or walk in with her on the mornings where she’s home by herself ALL day too.

I love sunrises! I not really a morning person, but I really appreciate the calmness/ quietness of the morning. It is one of my favorites times if I can get out of bed. 🙂 Also, Maizey is adorable.

I’m with the commenter above, sunrise holds the key my heart. There’s nothing better than getting to catch a sunrise while running outside.
