Marathon weekend is HERE + Submit questions for a FB live video about our engagement!

1. Tommy and I are headed out of town for the Wrightsville Beach Marathon this weekend. EEEEK!!!!!! I keep oscillating from being really excited to really nervous. And I also just want to have it DONE. πŸ™‚Β I’m really excited to have a weekend away from work and reality too. I’ve been feeling really burned out between work and training. I’m taking Maizey to camp (our VRBO doesn’t allow dogs), doing a short 2 mile shakeout run, then packing the car and we’re hitting the road! I’ve been SO impressed with the organization and communication from the Wrightsville Beach Marathon folks and am excited to see the expo.

2. While we are at the beach, we’re planning to do a Facebook Live about our engagementΒ and how he proposed. It will likely be Saturday or Sunday afternoon. When it gets closer, I’ll post on Facebook, TwitterΒ andΒ Instagram stories, so keep an eye out! (Sorry for the uncertainty on time – we’re trying to have a low key weekend so just want to play it by ear.) If you have specific questions, leave a comment on this post or submit them in this form! We’ll get to as many as we can!

3. The Beautycounter giveaway ends on Sunday so don’t miss that!

Wish me luck and say some prayers for me!

I’m hoping I sleep tonight, that no injuries pop up mid-race and that I have a fun race!

One of my favorite posts of yours is “7 ways to increase your running speed”. I was wondering 1. If you want any additional thoughts or things to add because now that was a few years ago and 2. How this all worked into your BQ-ing. I know you’ve always run a lot consistently but I’m so impressed with your BQ especially because for the majority of the year (from my perspective) you’ve focused a little more on cross fit than running. Do you think that helped you BQ? I can’t wait to hear all about your marathon and proposal!!!

Hi Natalie! I’ve actually been meaning to do an updated version of this post for a while so thanks for comment/reminding me! πŸ™‚

I do think that CrossFit has helped my running, but I’ve had to be a LOT more careful about recovery and pre-hab. I ended up in PT because I wasn’t smart about it.

I’ll do a more detailed post…it’s on my to-do’s now. Thanks again!
