You’ve Got Mail

I love getting mail, especially when that mail contains food. Luckily, I have a mom who loves food as much as I do and often get tasty packages from her. Last week, I got two totally unexpected packages of food.

Amie from The Healthy Apple send me these little goodies. YUM! I haven’t had Larabars for a few months (since Costco stopped carrying them) and was so excited to have them again. I’d forgotten how much I like these things…guess I’ll be adding them back to my Whole Foods grocery list! Thanks so much for the surprise Amie! DSC_0866-2I also got a bag of these (sorry…I didn’t quite make it to the camera to take a picture of them before I opened them)DSC_0879 with this letter from my sister-in-law (and my bro, nephew and niece)DSC_0875-3 Allow me to translate the contents if you can’t read it on your computer screen.

“Teri – The time has come for an intervention. The recent nature of your blog posts (kale, loafs, dried beans) has us deeply concerned for the continued integrity of your fragile taste buds. They are being inundated with foods in opposition to what we feel is right. And yummy. And fattening. And caloric. While we respect your desire to be a foodie who stays fit, we strongly recommend that you devour this entire bag of sugary, chocolatey, goodness within 48 hours. Severe consequences will follow if our desires are not met.

With regards,

Jesse, Ashly, Clark, & Ava”

BAAHAHAHAHAHAHAH! I love my sister-in-law. I still laugh out loud every time I read this letter.

FYI, I met her demands.

I know, I wish I could find them too. I think maybe only the company distributes them as samples?

I had them once a couple years ago when my mom got them for me. And then we left them in the car and they melted into a giant block. 🙁 Still tasty but…

I haven’t been able to find them since!!

That letter was awesomatical!! You will have to let me know about the tropical LB…I’m scared. I have 2 flavors waiting to try because I had a good coupon…ginger snap and key lime pie. I usually go with the traditional flavors and enjoy pecan pie + peanut butter jelly the most. I’m thinking I might like these stronger flavors because I get a little sick of that “date” flavor. A lot of the bars are so similar tasting…such a bar snob 😉

I’m saving that one for last since I’ve been really curious about it too. I agree – they do all taste veeeerrrrry similar. Hopefully this one is different but tasty! You are a bar snob. You should just like, ya know, make your own bars or something. hehe

Gingersnap and key lime pie sound really sketch.

I was going to shout this at you, “THEY HAVE THOSE THINGS IN DARK CHOCOLATE!!!!!!!!!”, but someone beat me to it.

I squealed with delight when I found them at the grocery store. Then I promptly went home and ate half the bag. Whoops.

WHY DID YOU HAVE TO SHOW THE EGGS?!?!?!?!

Those eggs = Tyler’s Kryptonite. Must. Buy. Eggs. Tonight.

Your sister-in-law sounds like good people to me. 🙂

I deleted the duplicates. The dragon (or whatever cartoon figure you might get) is an automated icon if you don’t have a Gravatar set up. Google Gravatar and you can set up a picture with your email account so it will show up on websites that aren’t Blogger based but have Gravatar enabled.

I am relieved to know I am not the only person who can rip through a bag of those babies in such a short amount of time. They had them on special 2/$4.88 at Rite Aid and it took EVERY ounce of strength for me to just buy one bag, which was depleted by the next afternoon – these are my FAVORITE. Thank goodness they are seasonal!!

Seriously, if they weren’t seasonal, we’d all be in trouble….but I have heard that they freeze well. 🙂 And I had a friend buy a bag last year in April and give it to me on my birthday in September (yeah, she’s a really good friend to think that far ahead) and they were still perfect! Just FYI…. hehe

I really don’t think you can buy the mini lara bars – I think they have to come from the company as samples. But let me know if you find them!!

Lots of people have commented that they wish they could find the mini Larabars? Where did you get them? Directly from the company? I thought they might just be a sample-size only thing.
