hey guys! I didn’t intend to take a little blogging hiatus but I did! So let’s get caught up on each other’s lives shall we?
1. I made this red wine beef stew last week when it was cold and drizzly. It was INNNNNcredible. I’m almost wishing for another yucky day just so I can make it. The entire broth of the soup consists of red wine. No water, no beef stock. Just red wine. π
2. I made this clam spaghetti dish with fresh basil-parsley cilantro. It’s pretty simple and extra delicious.
We went through a lot of clams. π
A friend and I had dinner with the lovely Anna and her husband. She brought an amazing poppyseed salad and was thoughtful enough to make the dressing dairy-free!
And they spoiled us with La Crema Chardonnay. I loooove this stuff.
3. I went to a cookout (AKA BBQ) with some friends on Friday night and had the most delicious bison burger and lots of laughs. The next day, Whole Foods was having a special on bison burgers at lunch to raise money for their Whole Planet Foundation. $5 for a bison burger & beer! And I realizedβ¦.I don’t think I have ever had a can of beer before that day – I’ve only ever had bottles or draft! (I also bought bison patties to cook for dinner that night. What can I sayβ¦I like bison.)
Let’s talk about that hair shall we? I tried to see if I could coerce my stick-straight hair into a wave if I scrunched it and let it dry. It didn’t work. Terrible. And, I realized that I looked like I was wearing a shirt with the name Al on it at the same time. (It really says Y’all.) It was a rough hair + outfit day.
Luckily I had a hair appointment later that day. I’m sure my stylist was thinking, “What have you done to my masterpiece?!”
He fixed me right up and added some bangs in too. No, I don’t know what I’m doing with my face. Let’s not talk about it. Or the giant glasses. Let’s not talk about those either.
4. Instead, let’s talk about these Brookside dark chocolate-covered goji berries my mom sent me in my Easter package. SOOOO good. Go find them. And send me some more.
I loved her Easter Bunny drawings just as much.
5. Let’s also talk about Maizey’s obsession with the shower. Caught ya! Don’t try to sneak past me pup!
6. I ran 7 miles on Saturday, average 7:45ish pace. It felt so good!
I treated myself with an Americano afterwards and treated Maizey to the sweat on my legs.
And then she sunbathed while I sipped my java.
Now, I’ve done all the talking; tell me about you. π How was your Easter? I’ve missed you guys. π
If you have a dog, do you let them lick you? I know some people are really weird about it. It doesn’t bother me until she tries to lick my palms (eeew!) or when I have lotion on my legs and she licks it off.

atSo many delicious meals! You have my mouth watering. Have you tried La Crema Pinot Noir? It’s very tasty, as well! π I just got my first dog on Friday–and I’m in love. I don’t mind if he licks me, but not on my face/lips. That’s a bit much for me.

atI haven’t tried it but always wondered if it was as good as the chardonnay! thanks for the reco! ohhhhh first doggy!!! i hope it’s going well!!
jen @nutcaseinpoint
atmy pup practically never licks me (unless there is food on my fingers) but she ALWAYS gives licks to my hub. NO FAIR, I’m her mama! (meaning no fair that she shows him more affection. I’m totally ok with it though, because licks on the face are weird, yo.)

athaha that’s hilarious! my pup is a total man lover too.

atI have an 8-yr-old weimaraner that likes to do drive-by licks. If anyone bends over to tie their shoes or pick up something he runs past you and licks your face. It cracks most people up and I think that’s why he does it.
Teri [a foodie stays fit]
atDrive-by licks? hahahahahha

atOur german shepherd thinks that licking people is the only way to be around people. kids are her favorite since they’re the right height and super squirmy! i’m fine with it, just not on my lips – i KNOW where that tongue has been!
Easter was a food overload. I’m still coming off of it……. i made a carrot cake for the first time, 3 layers from janetha’s meals and moves blog. also made a choco chip cake for my nephew’s belated bday.

atMy dog, above anything else, is a licker. He licks all. the. time. Maybe it’s because he has us conditioned, but it doesn’t bother us one bit. In fact, if he didn’t lick my face every morning, I’d be sad! He even kisses on command. π
Teri [a foodie stays fit]
ati love my pup’s kisses too π

atBoth of our dogs lick us like there is no tomorrow! It’s hilarious! They really like licking the Hubbs on the arm when he’s trying to sleep. hehe
Teri [a foodie stays fit]
athehe. “no sleeping! play with me!!”

atSounds like a great weekend!
My dog loves nothing more than to lick leg sweat after the gym — I figure, I’m heading to the shower right after, so who cares? π

atAll of the things you’ve been making sound just fabulous! The beef stew would be perfect on a cold rainy day, although I can’t say I’m wishing for one of those for awhile. π
And I am loving the hair! As always, you seem to rock any look.
Love you girl!

atlove you too!!

atMy dog has the reign of the house. He sleeps with me and can do basically anything BUT lick me. I know it’s weird. He only licks my oldest daughter which is the only one that let’s him. π
Teri [a foodie stays fit]
atmaizey has the reign of my house too. but i’ve been working on trying to get her to be a little better and realize i’m the boss with the “nothing in life is free” training schedule. she’s completely baffled. π

atMy dog Margot loves to lick sweat–I think she just likes the saltiness or something. Anyway, it doesn’t bother me, as I’m usually on my way to the shower. I get mad when she licks me on the way out of the shower though! She also likes to lick the backs of people’s hands. Such a weirdo, but a loveable one!
Paige
atOf course I let my dogs lick me! Sometimes my hands too, but I always wash them hard afterwards.

atTry the chocolate covered acai berries next. They are SO good. Can I print out your picture for hair inspiration? I’m getting this junk chopped next week and your length is right about where I need mine to be. : )
Teri [a foodie stays fit]
atof course! I’m flattered! π Can’t wait to see how it turns out!

Cheryl
atLove Bison burgers too … can’t get enough right now. Have heard they are a great source of lean protein. Let’s hope so … !

atYour hair looks so cute! I wish I could have wine while getting my hair done, jealous!
My dogs LOVE to lick, expecially after workouts or even DURING workouts! I don’t mind it π
Megan
atKona gives kisses and licks sweat off your knees, but she also full-on tries to groom us too – like, obsessively licking your elbow until you get grossed out and force her to stop. It’s just her way of saying that she loves us π
Julie
atMy dog loves to lick my legs when I get out of the shower, & it totally grosses me out! π
Carol Wickett
atDelicious looking meals for sure. My daughter has a dog and she is a licker. I don’t mind at all.
LisaH
atI’ve had 4 boxers, and 3 of them have loved to lick my legs after getting out of the shower π Doesn’t bother me a bit!
Michelle (The Runner's Plate)
atI often try to give my stick-straight locks some beach-inspired waves, but it always fails miserably. I was too lazy to do my hair this morning, and it looked like I had stuck my finger in a light socket or something–bleh! Good thing there’s always help from the professionals.
