One of my friends shared this hot breakfast cereal recipe with me. I was kind of skeptical of it at first but it’s actually really good. It’s one of those things that totally grows on you. And since we’re in the spirit of sharing, I shall share this recipe with you.

- ½ cup flax or almond milk (or milk of your choice — those two are my favorites)
- ½ cup ground flaxseeds (I buy mine whole and grind them in my coffee grinder)
- ¼ cup unsweetened coconut flakes
- ¼ cup of chopped walnuts
- pinch of sea salt
- Ground cinnamon
- ¼ cup berries (or fruit of choice)
- extra milk for topping
Combine the milk, ground flaxseeds, coconut flakes, nuts, and salt in a microwavable bowl and microwave for 1 minute. Sprinkle cinnamon on top and toss a few berries on there. Top with milk, if desired. I like to add a little milk to all my hot cereals just before serving but if you don’t, skip it. I just find it helps it from getting kind of gummy.
This is pretty calorie dense but I like a higher calorie breakfast. Plus with all the fiber and healthy fats, this keeps me full easily until lunch.
